Goes well here and has won a couple of hunters chases over these fences before now. Was a well held third at Fakenham last time out and been given a chance from a 3lb lower mark; dangerous to underestimate in her bid for a third chase win at Exeter.

Showed ability in point-to-points but not much progress made over hurdles and was pulled up on chase debut last time out. Hard to recommend on that evidence despite this being a slight drop in class.

Best efforts under rules have been posted at this course but he's yet to get off the mark and has been out battled on a number of occasions before now. Did run well from this mark at Fontwell on his penultimate start but more now needed.

Made little impact on his belated seasonal/chase debut when mid division at Chepstow earlier this month; should be sharper for the run, though. Needs to be a little quicker at his fences this time.

Off the mark over fences at the first time of asking when justifying market support at Ffos Last in November; things didn't pan out to suit last time, but the return to 3m on testing ground will suit. Another one to consider.

Was back to form with a gutsy win at Taunton last month and still competitively weighted despite a 5lb higher mark this time. He's won on heavy ground before now and still has scope over fences. Shortlisted.

C&D winner last March; form which reads well with the likes of Bellamy's Grey in the context of this race, and also run into form at the right time for another crack at these fences. Never won from a mark this high before but is still respected.

Big Time Frank22

Finished behind Bellamy's Grey at Taunton last month and has been struggling to find his level for while now. Was second (from a 5lb higher mark) in this race last year but hasn't been in the same form in the build up this time around.

Just 3lb above his last winning mark but hasn't stood much racing of late and was easily brushed aside at Taunton last time out. That was his first run for almost a year but he's gone well fresh in the past so now has something to prove.

Was a game winner at Hereford's first meeting of the year and is still on a very handy mark despite a 4lb rise. Still open to improvement over fences and is proven on the ground. Another one to bear in mind from this in-form yard.

Won twice in December 2018 but mainly struggled since then and his form since his return to action in the winter has left a bit to be desired. Trip and ground not issues but needs to be near his best to play a strong role.

Well held in all three starts over fences and now set to race from a career lowest mark as a result. Has shown a liking for a test of stamina and should be suited to this course after jumping to right latest; improvement still needed.

Forecasts

Ballybreen (5/1), Mount Oliver (6/1), In Arrears (6/1), Kiwi Myth (6/1), Great Tempo (6/1), Bellamy's Grey (8/1), Big Time Frank (8/1), Arqalina (8/1), Steel Express (12/1), Westerner Ocean (20/1), Mogestic (20/1), Burgess Dream (25/1), Lady Kingsmill (50/1)

Verdict

There was a lot to like about the manner in which BALLYBREEN stuck his neck out to win at Hereford earlier this month and, from just a 4lb higher mark, the could still be ahead of the assessor (rated 96 at his best over hurdles so far; runs off 80 here). Arqalina is another that is open to further improvement and would be dangerous to rule out; whereas Kiwi Myth and Big Time Frank (runner up in this last year) also handle this course well and are also worth considering.
  1. Ballybreen
  2. Arqalina
