Won here as a novice but form hit the buffers for Phillip Hobbs and he might just need this as he debuts for a new yard after an absence since last May. Reasonably well handicapped for future reference, though.
Ran well a couple of times for Elizabeth Doyle when trained in Ireland but was possibly too keen on debut for his current yard when last seen. Has scope to improve and heavy ground should be fine; still worth a betting check.
Best form has been posted over fences so far but he's on a fair mark in comparison to his chase rating so merits a second look in the betting. Below par here on New Year's Day but still dangerous to rule out.
Was well held by a couple of progressive types but still posted an improved effort here last time out; and makes his handicap debut at a reasonable enough level. Needs considering in a modest race.
0-21 and well held in both starts since leaving Ireland to join his current yard. Would have claims on the very pick of his past form form but needs to prove he hasn't just lost his way at present.
Showed promise for Nigel Twiston-Davies but was unable to get off the mark despite several near misses in what looked like decent opportunities. Below par in both starts for his a current yard and comes here with something to prove.
Career best effort when second in a course bumper last April but hasn't made much impact in three runs in novice hurdles. Might improve now handicapping but is unproven on heavy and is another who needs to up his game.
Form in bumpers was modest but there have been signs of improvement since switched to hurdling. Beaten 20L into second by the now 139-rated Shan Blue last time but faces nothing of that calibre here; sound claims on handicap bow.
Modest form over hurdles so far and has shaped as if needing a longer trip on more than one occasion. Has gone well at this course before but others more appealing. (Debut run in a handicap.)
Poor completion rate in point-to-points and hurdles form has been very modest up to press; hard to recommend and needs to take a big step forward now he tries handicapping for the first time.
Point-to-points form was reasonable but she still failed to win from seven attempts in that sphere; also drawn a blank almost as many times over hurdles and easy to oppose despite being cut some slack; now on her lowest mark to date.
Forecasts
Flagrant Delitiep (7/2), Volcano (9/2), Full Of Roque (5/1), Endless Flight (11/2), Show On The Road (13/2), Muffins For Tea (8/1), Saint Dalina (8/1), Cobaltic (10/1), Espressino (33/1), Sticky Situation (50/1), False Getaway (66/1)
It would come as no surprise to see FLAGRANT DELITIEP being good enough to make a winning handicap debut in this modest company and he is taken to build on what was a solid effort from last time out. Cobaltic and Saint Dalina are expected to form the main body of opposition, while Muffins For Tea and Show On The Road have more experience in races of this nature and could also make their presence known in the scrap for the minor honours.
- Flagrant Delitiep
- Cobaltic
- Saint Dalina
