C&D and 6f winner here, the more recent over the longer trip in a claimer in March. Hasn't run on AW since April, while he is also yet to win after a break, so while he could make an impact, he needs to rewrite some stats to win.
Triple turf sprint winner who has also scored on Tapeta (6f). Needs to improve on what he has produced away from turf if he is to get back to winning ways, especially over this trip.
6f Polytrack winner last May in a Chelmsford novice event. Has largely been consistent from this mark, aside from his latest effort here, so needs to find more if he is to score now dropped in trip.
Triple turf winner who scored over C&D in November, and followed up at Wolverhampton after a 5lb rise next time. Handicapper appears to have taken his measure since upped to this sort of level since, giving him a bit to prove.
Entered 5.30 Newcastle Thursday. 1-22 and not the easiest of rides, but went close here over C&D in November, when 3lb lower and couldn't be written off on these terms if he takes his chance.
Won a C&D conditions event three years ago, adding to a 6f claimer he had already landed here. Was in good form on turf in the autumn, but needs significant improvement on his last two starts.
Forecasts
Heath Charnock (6/4), Commander Han (3/1), Venturous (4/1), Doc Sportello (15/2), Big Les (14/1), Alsvinder (33/1)
Not an easy race to call, as all six of them have questions to answer and the tentative suggestion is HEATH CHARNOCK, who suffered a blip last time, but is usually reliable and is taken to bounce back. Commander Han would remain of interest if turned out again, while Alsvinder and Venturous are not written off.
