Homebred newcomer whose dam won twice over 5f. Half-brother to two 5f Fibresand winners, Kodi Beach and Zandradee (including on debut). Gelded for his first start and his market position should guide as to his chance.

Very keen before weakening in the closing stages on debut here (1m) six weeks ago. Has been gelded in the interim and drops in trip but may need the benefit of further experience before realising his potential.

Half-brother to 2m Polytrack winner Tin Fandango; dam unraced from wider family of Rescousse, winner of the French Oaks, whilst his sire won twice over 1m. Pedigree points to wanting further for a yard not renowned for winning debutants.

Shaped with plenty of promise on C&D debut, beaten 1½L into second. Didn't look to particularly enjoy the Fibresand at Southwell (6f) last time when fifth of nine but he wouldn't be the first and should do better back here.

Iffraaj filly out of a dam who won over 6f, including in Listed company. Bred to do better than her two outings last summer for Eve Johnson Houghton (tailed off both times) and best watched for a new yard now (same ownership).

Cost 425,000 gns and related to three winners including at Group 2/Grade 2 level. Well fancied favourite on debut at Wolverhampton (7f) but missed the break and was too keen, beaten just ¾L into third. Strong claims of getting off the mark on that.
Can boast just a modest pedigree, and this Doncaster Rover filly was tailed off last of five at Wolverhampton (7f) four weeks ago. Significant improvement required.

Forecasts

Monya (4/7), Redesdale Rebel (3/1), Deputy Star (9/1), Bob Beach (10/1), Prophecy (28/1), Forever Mine (80/1), Wildmountainthyme (150/1)

Verdict

After being slowly away and too keen, MONYA did very well to be beaten just ¾L on debut at Wolverhampton. The drop in trip here is a positive and she should take all the beating on that form. Redesdale Rebel ran well here on debut but can be forgiven his encounter with Southwell's Fibresand last time whilst Bob Beach is from a speedy family and wouldn't need to be above average to show up well.
