Winner of three of his 22 starts over hurdles and has continued to run well in defeat in a couple of starts since November. Entitled to make the shortlist.
Has posted a couple of career best efforts at Punchestown and Tramore in November/December running with plenty of credit in defeat. Another bold show looks likely.
Miserly return of just the one win in 15 starts. Lightly raced over the last two years, the gelding disappointed on return to action at Limerick last week following an absence of 18 months.
Seven-race maiden who has posted a mixed bag of results since her run at Wexford in April. Beaten over 77L on her latest start at Fairyhouse last month. Vast improvement needed to figure.
Off the mark for connections at the seventh time of asking when landing a Punchestown 2m5½f mares' handicap on soft ground off a 6lb lower mark in November. Better than last run suggests and a leading player in this contest.
Winner of two of his 16 starts over hurdles and appeared to show a little improvement on his latest start at Fairyhouse earlier this month. More progression possible.
Well beaten over 25L in each of his three starts over hurdles before falling on chasing debut at Leopardstown when last seen in March. Difficult to fancy on this occasion.
Lightly raced in recent years and has been struggling in four starts since returning to action in August. Not a forlorn hope in first-time cheekpieces.
Changes hands for the seventh time between trainer Jenny Candlish and his current handler. Worth a check in the market and not easy to discount.
11-race maiden over hurdles but produced a career best effort on his latest start at Fairyhouse to finish third of 15 beaten 8L. Lively contender in first-time blinkers.
One from 14 over hurdles. Has just three runs to his name in the last two years. Pulled up when detached in a Down Royal handicap hurdle last seen in November.
Lightly raced veteran only seen three times in the last 12 months. Hard to fancy in this contest and may struggle on these terms.
Forecasts
The Church Gate (11/4), Tokyo Getaway (7/2), Nicole's Milan (11/2), Howaya Aoife (11/2), The Reaping Race (9/1), The Grey Guy (10/1), Trickey Trix (14/1), Jaunty Warrior (14/1), The Horsechesnut (16/1), Mystic Embarr (33/1), Castlehume Gold (33/1), Toushan (50/1)
The improving TOKYO GETAWAY finished second of 15 but finished well ahead of the remaining 13 rivals in a Tramore beginners contest last month on heavy ground. The six-year-old looks on a good mark on her return to hurdles in this contest and can hold off the attentions of The Reaping Race in first-time blinkers who can emerge as the biggest danger. The Church Gate for trainer Matthew Smith and the Gerard Keane-trained Howaya Aoife can battle for remaining prize money.
- Tokyo Getaway
- The Reaping Race
