Managed to win a modest maiden when with his former yard back in 2017 but it's been lean picking since. Well held and no impression at Leopardstown last month and easy to oppose again.
Off the mark at the 13th time of asking when landing a Down Royal handicap hurdle over 2m1f last month from a 10lb lower mark. Possible tough ask from revised mark.
Without a win in four starts over hurdles. Lightly raced in 2019 and failed to beat an opponent home in a couple of Flat starts in October/November.
Five-race maiden who has been a long way off a career best effort at Ballinrobe in May in a number of dismal efforts since. First time cheekpieces unlikely to bring about the required amount of improvement needed to play a role here.
Popular veteran winner of three of his 18 starts over timber. May need a few to falter in this contest and losing run is mounting up.
Point-to-point winner but has struggled under Rules and jumping errors let him down regularly; hard to recommend.
Has shaped with promise on a number of occasions including Naas last time out when seventh of 21. However, she'll need more to get competitive in this company; handicap debut.
Won three times over timber back in 2015/16 but missed a chunk of time after and showed very little when returned to the track in 2017/18 season. 11th of 15 beaten 32L on return from yet another absence at Naas earlier this month.
Not much to shout about in three dismal efforts since her debut in November. Profile suggests the daughter of Soldier Hollow is worth taking on again.
Modest on the Flat and struggling in three starts over timber since; others preferred.
Will have disappointed leading connections in his last couple of starts over hurdles since November. No surprise to see an improvement in form now sent handicapping.
Beaten at big prices on all four of hurdles starts to date and impossible to make a case for on all known form.
Beaten at big prices on three maiden hurdles and has shown no improvement for the switch to handicaps subsequently.
Six-race maiden yet to hit the frame in any of his career efforts so far. Not seen since a 32L beating at Kilbeggan in August 2018 and best watched on return here.
Long standing maiden in both codes but has hinted at ability in some of her hurdle starts including here last time out when sixth of 20; needs more to be involved for win purposes though.
Forecasts
Magic Sea (5/2), Chief Of Police (13/2), Saol Iontach (7/1), Nobel Joshua (9/1), Breezy Bell (9/1), Sean Says (11/1), De Benno (12/1), Fair Minded (12/1), Shes Gold (16/1), Early Voice (16/1), Bold Emperor (20/1), Benefit North (25/1), Ontheiflist (25/1), Backintheboom (33/1), Ice Cool (50/1)
Gordon Elliott-trained NOBEL JOSHUA could be the one to beat on handicap debut having showed a bit more last time out. Magic Sea could be the main danger after an impressive success last time out while it would come as no surprise to see an improved effort from the other McManus runner Fair Minded.
- Nobel Joshua
- Magic Sea
- Fair Minded
