Given an enterprising ride by Joshua Moore when getting off the mark at the sixth attempt over an extended 2m4f at Plumpton (soft) last week -some scope to brush up his hurdling technique; fair chance under a 7lb penalty.
Disappointing over fences so far this season (0-2); returns to hurdles in a newly applied set of blinkers from a mark which is 2lb higher than when a short-head winner (Auenwirbel second) of this race in 2019.
Won (by 11L) off this mark in the mud at Ffos Las (2m6f, heavy) in April 2018; precious few positives to take from his more recent efforts, including over fences (comeback run) 52 days ago.
With Robert Tyner when winning a four-runner maiden at Bandon (3m, heavy) in March 2019; has shown no worthwhile form under rules; tackles a new trip on handicap debut.
13-race maiden; has eased 4lb in the weights since finishing 10¼L third to Drewmain Legend at Leicester (1m7½f, heavy) on her penultimate start; holds place prospects but no more.
Very well supported in the market when hacking up in a conditional jockeys' race at Ayr (2m5½f, heavy) last week; carries no penalty for that taking 14L success; a rare Lingfield Park runner for the Catterick trainer Phil Kirby; take the hint.
Won four times for Peter Winks in 2017 (2m1f-2m4f); well backed when falling on debut for D J Jeffreys at Newcastle in December; holds a similar chance to Kestrel Valley on the basis of recent Ffos Las form; stamina reserves?

Forecasts
Epsom Des Mottes (1/1), High Up In The Air (7/4), Sissinghurst (6/1), Bact To Black (10/1), Kestrel Valley (12/1), Modulus (16/1), Auenwirbel (16/1), De Bene Esse (25/1), Dandy Times (50/1)
The bang in-form North Yorkshire trainer Phil Kirby has only ever saddled one previous runner over jumps at Lingfield Park (1-10 on the Flat) so we should take the hint about the well-handicapped Ayr scorer EPSOM DES MOTTES. Very well supported in the market he soon had his six rivals under the sword courtesy of a competent Danny McMenamin ride. Impossible to oppose carrying no extra weight for that taking 14L success (race was for conditional jockeys') those playing for places are limited to High Up In The Air, Bact To Black and Auenwirbel.
