Has made just the four racecourse appearance and already has a maiden hurdle win to his name after showing promise in bumpers; latest hurdles effort was slightly disappointing but drop back in trip should help on fences bow.
Had some useful handicap hurdle form but has yet to gain his confidence over fences; errors on his first two chase appearance were not ironed out last time which resulted in his falling at Punchestown; hard to trust at present.
Won maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse and Grade 2 novice at Naas last season; below par in latest runs over hurdles but promising effort over fences at Leopardstown in December gives him something to build on; interesting.
Won a maiden hurdle well enough at Tramore in October; well beaten on fences debut at Punchestown in December; entitled to improve but hard to back with confidence at the present time.
Tailed off on both appearances under Rules and not easy to fancy on that evidence despite having reasonable point-to-point form in the past.
Failed to build on promising chase debut effort at Navan at the same track in December; needs to bounce back to play a leading role.
Five-race maiden over hurdles the son of Oscar finished one paced and down the field on both starts over fences at Navan and Gowran Park; will need to improve to figure.
Showed some promise when a well beaten second in chase at Punchestown in December; fell in the early stages last time out at Leopardstown; not without a chance if staying on his feet.
132-rated hurdler will have pleased connections on debut over the larger obstacles when finishing third of 18 in a Naas 2m3f beginners contest in November; fell early stages last time out and is another whose chance is dependent on his jumping.
Had some useful form in France but was well-beaten on only start for previous yard and offered little when sixth in Naas Grade 3 hurdle (2m) on stable debut; never a factor and completely tailed off on chase debut in December; unlikely winner.
Little to recommend on the evidence of his two racecourse appearances; tailed off on debut and beaten over 100 lengths last time out.
Forecasts
Chosen Mate (6/4), Voix Des Tiep (9/4), Annamix (7/1), Valdieu (9/1), The Gunner Murphy (12/1), Envol Pierji (12/1), Prospectus (20/1), Ballyneety (40/1), Arverne (40/1), Fivecardstud (100/1), Lord Lariat (100/1)
CHOSEN MATE was a very useful hurdler in his day and has carried that ability with him over fences based on his recent effort at Leopardstown. If he can improve on that effort then he may just have the ability to win this contest not bristling with potential winners. The lightly-raced Annamix has obviously had his training problems but has shown he has ability when reaching a racecourse. He is an interesting contender on his chase debut. Voix Des Tiep needs to bounce back from a fall last time out but if he can improve his jumping then he holds every chance based on his solid enough hurdles form.
