Can count smart chaser Burton Port among his siblings, and landed a gamble on debut over C&D when beating Universal Folly. Had a bit in hand there, and should go close under a penalty.
From the family of top-class hurdler Valiramix. Looked one for the longer term when sixth of 9 to Malystic in a bumper at Newcastle in February, and passed over after a lengthy absence.
Stowaway gelding cost connections €55,000 when purchased as a three-year-old in June last year. Well beaten on debut at Chepstow last month, but ought to do better, and worth a market check.
Has shown similar form in a couple of starts to date, most recently when fourth of 8 to College Oak over C&D. Type to do better in time, but opposable in this company.
First foal of an unraced mare, but jockey booking for this son of Fair Mix catches the eye, and top Flat yard always respected with runners in this sphere. Heed market clues.
Son of Martaline who was an impressive winner of a point-to-point on his only start, and cost £160,000 subsequently. Beaten narrowly on bumper debut at Chepstow when odds-on, and worth another chance having conceded first run to the winner there.
Half-brother to modest staying jumper Yukon Delta out of a half-sister to top-class chaser Sir Rembrandt. Second in a point-to-point, but pedigree suggests he'll need a stiffer test to show his best under rules.
From the family of Supreme Novices' winner Arctic Kinsman, but looked badly in need of experience when 19L eighth of 14 to Pennine Cross on bumper debut, and looks a long-term prospect.
Carlotamix mare who cost just £1,200 as a 4-y-o, and makes limited appeal on paper. Fact she's equipped with cheekpieces for this debut hardly inspires confidence.
Phoenix Reach filly out of an unraced mare, and makes limited appeal on pedigree. Yard still looking for first winner under rules, and recent results are discouraging.
Forecasts
Linelee King (5/6), Blazing Port (7/4), Ifyoucareshare (8/1), Ferry All (10/1), Steinkraus (16/1), Conceal (20/1), Tumbling Dice (50/1), Arcanja (100/1), Fozzi (150/1), Not Another Bay (200/1)
BLAZING PORT is well bred and was the subject of strong support when winning on debut over C&D. A penalty makes life harder, but he may be up to defying it at the main expense of point winner Linelee King, who was narrowly denied at Chepstow when an odds-on favourite. Ifyoucareshare represents a powerful yard, and is unlikely to want for fitness on his racecourse bow.
- Blazing Port
- Linelee King
