Group 1 winner in his pomp but only showed glimpses of that once last year when runner up in 7f Newbury Group 2. Well-held on both starts on the AW this term and while this is easier, looks to be on a downward spiral.
Above average two-year-old and returned with a bang last season winning 1m Listed race at Newcastle. Only beaten 1L after returning from long absence at Chelmsford (1m) last month and could progress from that. Leading contender.
Winner of three of his six starts since spell in the UAE, winning successive Class 3 handicaps at Wolverhampton (6-7f) before good second at Southwell (7f) last time. Off the same mark so merits respect.
Rapid improver since switching to the AW, winning twice at Chelmsford before making it a three-timer with game success at Wolverhampton (6f) last month. Only up 3lb and improving at a rate of knots.
Not out of the first three on the AW this term, winning three times including with 1L C&D success on New Year's Eve. That was a Class 4 race however so this represents a step up against classy rivals.
Last win came at Wolverhampton (6f) in July but found things a bit tougher since. Last seen finishing 2L fourth in 6f conditions contest at that venue so will require a bit more on ratings to be competitive.
Forecasts
Mohareb (9/4), Power Link (3/1), Fox Power (10/3), Reeves (4/1), Librisa Breeze (11/1), Baby Steps (16/1)
The feature race of the day hasn't attracted many runners, which makes it a good opportunity for the classy FOX POWER to get back to winning ways. Winner of the Burradon Stakes in early 2019, he is entitled to strip fitter for his recent comeback outing and may have a class edge over some of these rivals. Both Power Link, and especially Reeves, have been improving at a rate of knots on the AW and are still on likeable marks for their toughest tasks to date, while Librisa Breeze would be bang in the mix if back to his Group 2 second form, but he looks to have fallen out of love with racing at the moment.
