Won at the second time of asking over the larger obstacles when landing a Thurles 2m2f beginners contest in November before holding his form well at Tramore on New Years Day over 2m. More likely than some to run his race.

Daughter of Stowaway, useful 109-rated handicap hurdler. Off the mark at the third time of asking over the larger obstacles when landing a Tramore novice chase over 2m on New Years day beating Benefit Run 3½L. Leading player on handicap chase debut.

The daughter of Beneficial has been running with plenty of credit in a number of starts over both the larger obstacles and hurdles since September. Behind a couple of these on New Years day at Tramore and more needed here.

Few highlights in a 16 race career so far. First time cheekpieces unlikely to bring about the required amount of improvement needed to play a role here.

Off the mark for connections at the fourth attempt over the larger obstacles when landing a handicap chase at this venue early last month off a 7lb lower mark. Could be capable of better still.

10-race maiden without a win in three starts over fences. Possibly of more ability than suggested on his latest disappointing start at Tramore last month. Needs a couple to falter.

135L defeat and pulled up when detached in a couple of initial starts over fences since August does not fire any enthusiasm for the Whitmore's Coin gelding.

Betting

Forecast

Benefit Run (11/4), Trumps Ace (4/1), Bridge Native (4/1), Lovely Carrig (5/1), Bee A Beneficiary (6/1), Port Rashid (7/1), The Broom Squire (33/1)

Verdict

The novice chase over 2m at Tramore on New Years day could be the key to the result here with the Di Love-trained BRIDGE NATIVE confirming the placings with Benefit Run. The pair, together with the third, Bee A Beneficiary came 3L clear of the rest of the eight runner field on soft ground and can once again be involved at the business end of proceedings. Trumps Ace who won at the fourth attempt over the larger obstacles when landing a handicap chase at this venue early last month off a 7lb lower mark should not be taken lightly.
  1. Bridge Native
  2. Benefit Run
  3. Trumps Ace
