Makes her GB/stable debut (cost €180,000) under a penalty having built on a solid enough effort when sixth in a Grade 3 (started favourite) to win on her second start at Le Lion-d'Angers (1m4f, soft); of obvious interest.
Milan mare; has undergone wind surgery since finishing a promising fifth of 12 (10-1) to Who What When in a 1m4½f fillies' junior bumper at Newbury (soft) in December 2018; may find a few of the others sharper and wiser.
€9,000 juvenile; second foal; half-sister to the French hurdle winner Le Meteque (2m3f-2m4f); others more likely.
Milan mare; is closely related to the Lucinda Russell-trained 2m chaser Le Frank; 7-1 when a staying on fourth (beaten just under 15L) to Vegas Blue at Bangor (2m½f, good) in May; should progress with more experience.
Has finished out the back at big prices on both starts so far (Warwick & Southwell); thought highly unlikely to fare any better here.
Yeats mare from a once-raced dam who is a half-sister to the Gold Cup/King George winner Long Run; 11-1 when never occupying better than a midfield position at Bangor (2m½f, good) in April.
Cost £14,000 as a 3yo; 33-1 when a well beaten tenth of 11 to Litigate on debut at Fakenham (2m, good) in October; far safer to look elsewhere for the solution.
Malinas mare; eighth foal; half-sister to three winners, including the Trevor Hemmings-owned Stoney Mountain (bumper/2m4f-3m hurdle); one-paced second in a Hereford point-to-point bumper (2m, good) in April; is shortlisted on debut for Harry Fry.
Ready winner of a November soft-ground 3m Lisronagh point for C.W.J Farrell; 1-7 overall in that sphere; has since joined Donald McCain; rules/bumper debut.
€2,400 yearling (€15,500 3yo); attracted market support (7-2) when sixth of 13 on debut at Wetherby (2m, soft); should've taken plenty on board that initial experience (race has produced subsequent winners - Clondaw Caitlin & Meep Meep Mag).
Doyen mare; second foal; half-sister to the useful and sadly ill-fated Jamie Snowden-trained bumper winner Shantewe; is hooded for racecourse debut; note any positive market move.
Forecasts
Padstow Harbour (9/4), Fontaine Collonges (7/2), Step To The Top (5/1), Lilly Pedlar (5/1), Didonato (9/1), Sheila Nash (11/1), Ballymilan (16/1), Shallow Run (16/1), Lady Diva (50/1), Misshirocco (66/1), Cup Of Coffee (66/1)
Fontaine Collonges will attract plenty of column inches on debut for Venetia Williams having cost €180,000 from France, and she sets a solid standard of form for the others to aim towards. However, the preferred option is the now Harry Fry-trained PADSTOW HARBOUR. She finished runner-up on her sole start for Philip Rowley (in a Hereford point-to-point bumper) and hails from a family line that is well-known to her prominent owner Trevor Hemmings. Others worthy of note for the future include Sheila Nash and Didonato.
- Padstow Harbour
- Fontaine Collonges
