15-race maiden but has finished runner-up in three of his last six outings, all in handicaps. Failed by just half a length in Lingfield 1m4 contest last time but has something to find on official figures in this event.

Americain half-brother to three middle-distance winners. Dam won over 1m2f and over hurdles. Belated racecourse bow at Wolverhampton last month when slowly away and always behind. Probably needs more time before we see the best of him.

Well bred Cape Cross gelding but failed to make it to the track for Sir Michael Stoute. Placed all three NH starts for current yard; a bumper and two juvenile hurdles. Interesting on Flat bow and worth a market check.

5/4
75-rated after three runs, doing best last time when second of four at Wolverhampton in 1m4f novice stakes. Should be very much on the premises on that evidence for yard with 22% strike rate here with its older horses.
American bred Kitten's Joy gelding who went very close to making a winning debut at Lingfield last week, failing by just a short-head to land 1m2f novice stakes. Step up in trip should suit and has strong claims if building on that effort.

Forecasts

Raining Fire (5/4), Thai Terrier (11/8), Mobham (11/2), Mr Chua (14/1), Dreadnoughtus (80/1)

Verdict

Assuming he's recovered from his exertions on debut when so narrowly denied at Lingfield last week, Mark Johnston's THAI TERRIER is fancied to go one better this time. He stayed on well and showed a good attitude so has plenty going for him. Raining Fire is the main danger and sets the standard on offical ratings, but he may be flattered and could again find one too good. Mr Chua is bred for the Flat but has been campaigned in the NH sphere, showing some ability, so is not out of this, but both Mobham and Dreadnoughtus may find this tough.

  2. Raining Fire
  3. Mr Chua
