C&D winner with his sole career win coming here in late 2018; generally runs respectably on this surface although he doesn't always go through with his effort. Fourth over 6f here last time he returns to 5f but can't be totally trusted.
Made a good start to life with this stable winning on his debut for them over 5f at Lingfield before running well over C&D finishing second to a thriving rival (albeit beaten 6L), should go well if he can handle the quick return to action.
Fibresand newcomer who remains a maiden after 12 Flat starts underperforming the last time he was seen on turf at Windsor in August. Returns to action off a career-low mark but likely to be found wanting against a few course specialists.
Yet to show any sparkle for this yard including over C&D faring poorly here recently having been hampered at the start. Not one to trust overall and his last win came in a seller; finds it tough in handicaps and offers only limited appeal.
Looks the better of the two that the yard run in this and he has won on Fibresand three times (twice over this trip). Below form here last time out behind the in-form Zapper Cass; can't rule out him bouncing back dropped in grade.
Eyeshields popped on for the first-time as she makes her second start on Fibresand but does so on the back of a long losing run. Went off too hard in first-time blinkers last time out at Wolverhampton; others appeal more.
Yet to win on the AW and 1-20 on the Flat overall but her consistency is hard to knock and she generally runs her race. Ran creditably last time over 6f at Chelmsford although she did have the run of the race and others appeal more.
Ran poorly when last seen off a seven month break and she enters this race off another significant absence. Yet to win a race it's hard to make a persuasive case for her here making a Fibresand debut.
Has won twice on Fibresand but generally runs over longer trips than this. Slow away and always behind when last seen he's not one to trust anymore and makes no appeal in this contest.
Forecasts
Global Melody (2/1), George Thomas (9/4), Under Curfew (11/2), Tilsworth Rose (6/1), Red Stripes (9/1), Angel Force (16/1), Tan (50/1), Marcella (50/1), Monzino (200/1)
The start that GEORGE THOMAS has made for this yard under today’s rider (Selma Grange) can’t be ignored at this level especially as he proved himself on this surface last time and despite getting beaten 6L he did so by an in-form sort. Red Stripes can’t be ignored as he generally runs his race here and this grade looks a little easier than the test he was given last time. Global Melody gained his only win here over C&D but he’s generally been a hard one to trust although this return to 5f may suit. Tllsworth Rose and Under Curfew are two others that can get involved and the latter should be watched in the market returning from a break.
- George Thomas
- Red Stripes
- Global Melody
