Bumper winner last term and made winning start over timber in 2m4f heavy-ground Uttoxeter maiden in November. Held next time conceding penalty when second over 2m6½f at Newcastle and may need to improve to bag this.
Well held third, beaten 32L, behind stablemate Neff on Boxing Day at Fontwell on second hurdles start. Will again have to take a step forward on that effort to get off the mark.
€24,000 three-year-old, Stowaway gelding. Half-brother to three winners, including fair chaser Steeles Terrace. Tongue-tie sported on first start for Charlie Longsdon.
Maiden on the Flat, sent off 66-1 on hurdles debut at Fontwell (2m1½f, soft) on Boxing Day and beaten a long way in a race by promising Neff (Benevolentdictator third).
Won all three points he contested. Still going well when a faller on hurdles debut at Bangor, and showed promise when 12L second at Southwell (3m, soft) last time. Should have more to come.
Finished second on debut at Uttoxeter in March in five-runner bumper on heavy ground but failed to build on that after 210-day absence at Chepstow in October and off again since. Hurdles bow, one to note in the betting.
Forecasts
Springfield Fox (1/1), Orrisdale (6/5), Benevolentdictator (14/1), Illegal Model (16/1), The Big Yin (20/1), Poniel (100/1), Moorsholme (100/1)
Orrisdale scored on hurdles bow and wasn't disgraced in finishing second next time under a penalty at Newcastle, he's the sort to improve again going up in trip now. Preference though is for SPRINGFIELD FOX, who may well have run into one when second at Southwell last time (winner won easily again next time). There should be more to come from him now and his trainer is in form. Newcomer Illegal Model may be next best in a weak heat.
