Climbed the handicap ranks on the Flat in style last season notching a hat-trick. No impression when one pace 11th of 25 on hurdling debut at Fairyhouse over a similar trip when last seen in November. More needed.

Pleasing second of 23 beaten 7L on hurdling debut in a Navan maiden on soft ground over a similar trip last month. First-time hood likely to assist.

150/1
Failed to hit the frame in eight starts on the Flat before finishing down the field in a desperate maiden hurdle effort at Thurles when last seen in November. Plenty to prove at present.

Improving sort has every chance following his career best effort finishing second of 21 beaten a neck behind Rightplacerighttime in a Naas maiden last month.

Gelding by Windsor Knot out of a Beneficial mare. Not fluent at a number of hurdles on debut in a Limerick 17 runner maiden over a similar trip late last month. Others preferred.

Ekanse6
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-10| J: D G Hogan| T: D Hogan
100/1
Society Rock gelding. More than likely to improve on hurdling debut when thrown in at the deep end in a Grade 3 contest at Limerick over Christmas, sent off at odds of 200/1 in the eight runner contest.
Sent off at big prices in three hurdling starts so far since November before running accordingly on each occasion and unlikely to be troubling the judge at the end of this contest.

Poor form on the Flat in three starts for trainer Luca Cumani in the summer of 2018 and well down the pack in a couple of hurdling starts since November beaten over 40L on each occasion.
9
Horse silk

Gelding by Dylan Thomas out of a Presenting mare. Hints of encouragement in a couple of starts over hurdles since November. One to watch in the market as post time approaches.

Age: 5|  Weight: 11-10| J: D J McInerney| T: J Queally

Well held and no impression in three starts over hurdles since May. First time cheekpieces unlikely to bring about the required amount of improvement needed to play a role here.

Age: 5|  Weight: 11-3| J: M J Bolger| T: S Fahey

Dawn Approach mare, only seen on three occasions last year. Infrequent visits to the track have stifled her chances of progression. Watching brief on stable and hurdling debut.
16

Verdict

A race that introduced us to Fakir D'Oudairies 12 months ago can go the way of the Tom Mullins-trained TAKARENGO who can build on a promising third of 22 beaten 3¼L on hurdling debut at Leopardstown over Christmas. The four-year-old can land the spoils at the expense of the experienced dual bumper winner The Little Yank for trainer John Ryan and The Peter Fahey, Jeremy gelding Belfast Banter who sports a first-time hood in this contest following a fine debut over hurdles at Navan last month. The Gordon Elliott-trained Recent Revelations and Capilano Bridge the mount of Mark Walsh are worthy of further consideration.
  1. Takarengo

  3. Belfast Banter
