Despite being beaten the last twice, he has still ran very well, finishing second in higher class races. Been raised a further 4lb for finishing second at Aintree (2m4f; good to soft) last month. This looks easier though and his stamina is assured.
Despite the stable being out of form at present, their runners on these shores must always be respected. Hasn't been seen for 95 days since finishing fifth of 10 in a beginners chase at Navan (2m4f; good). Back up in trip and goes well fresh.
Up in trip after failing to make any impression on seasonal reappearance at Carlisle (2m4f; soft) in early-November. Only been dropped 2lb for that, so is still 7lb above his last winning mark. Takes a slight drop in grade, but others are preferred.
Improving sort who demolished his opposition (including Arthurs Secret) over C&D last month. Been raised 8lbs for that, but is going the right way and looks capable of going in again against some exposed types.
More exposed than most, but he has done very little wrong this season, and finished a respectable third over C&D last month. Over 10-length behind Mighty Thunder that day, so looks to hold place claims at best.
Something to prove after he was pulled-up at Sedgefield (2m4f; soft) 48 days ago when struggling. Has only had the four starts in handicap company but form of the stable is a huge concern at the moment (0-32 in the past fortnight).
Forecasts
Mighty Thunder (2/1), One Night In Milan (4/1), Arthurs Secret (4/1), Ask Paddington (5/1), Fred The Foot (7/1), Knock House (10/1)
Despite the fact he must carry a hefty 12st6lbs for stepping down slightly in grade, ONE NIGHT IN MILAN looks to hold outstanding claims of regaining the winning thread. This half-brother to Native River rarely runs a bad race, & he has gone down fighting the last twice. This looks a weaker contest strength-wise than either of those assignments. He can take his record over hurdles to 5-11. Mighty Thunder looks the obvious danger after producing a career-best to score in wildly impressive fashion. An 8lb rise demands more, but it is difficult to see him out of the frame. The Irish raider Fred The Foot is also considered as he was in good form when last seen over hurdles.
- One Night In Milan
- Mighty Thunder
- Fred The Foot
