Made a winning start to his career when he was successful earlier this month on his debut at Fairyhouse (2m) where he kept on well in the closing stages to prevail by 2½L. Remains open to improvement. Leading contender.
Has the one win from his five outings and that came on his penultimate start at Galway (2m½f) when he scored by 12L. Was unable to follow it up on his latest effort at Down Royal (2m½f) as he was second of eight. Others are preferred.
A point-to-point winner who then scored on his Rules debut at Navan (2m) last month. He went off as the 5/4 favourite last time where he justified that confidence behind him as he was ridden clear in the final 2f. One to consider.
Struggled on his debut at Navan (2m) as he came home at the rear of seven runners, 35L off the winner after going off at 40/1. Will need to take a huge stride forward on his latest attempt so others make more of an appeal.
Was tailed off on his debut at Punchestown (2n½f) on his opening start back in April. Featured over hurdles last time where he was seventh of 23 at Navan (2m). Back in a bumper now. Needs to improve.
Oscar gelding who is a half-brother to Run For Mary who scored in a bumper and over hurdles. Interesting newcomer who should be of interest if there is strong market confidence behind him ahead of the race.
Was pulled up with 2f to go on her debut at Wexford (2m4f) where she was always at the rear of the field. Will have to make a big improvement on her second run over this shorter trip to be in the mix. Hard to make a case for.
Forecasts
Eric Bloodaxe (8/11), Wide Receiver (11/4), Hollow Sound (8/1), Fiston De Becon (8/1), Run For Oscar (16/1), Buck Rogers (33/1), Game Bird (66/1)
ERIC BLOODAXE was impressive when he scored on his debut at Fairyhouse and he can have more success here on his second start as there is likely to be more to come from the gelding on his latest appearance on the track. Wide Receiver has done nothing wrong in his two appearances to date, with his latest victory coming under Rules at Navan so he is the biggest challenger, while Run For Oscar is a newcomer who should be of interest as he could be good enough to finish in the frame at the first attempt.
- Eric Bloodaxe
- Wide Receiver
- Run For Oscar
