Dual C&D winner with the most recent of that duo coming in October after a nine-month break (career-best run) off a 5lb lower mark. Well held in a competitive Newbury handicap last time; returns to calmer waters.
Fairly useful handicap chaser who is a C&D winner off a 4lb lower mark but has been lightly-raced of late. Gone well fresh in the past but shaped as if needing the outing last time over 2m6f here; competitively weighted with cheekpieces now on.
Shaped nicely on his chasing debut when looking to complete a hat-trick having won his two previous starts over hurdles. Open to further progress, only narrowly beaten last time (raised 7lb); cheekpieces now fitted for the first time; player.
Ex-French sort who scored in a bumper and over fences but has yet to taste victory since coming to GB. Strong in the betting on his last two starts in the spring he didn't live up to those market expectations; yard in form and hard to write off.
Forecasts
Commis D'Office (15/8), Goldencard (11/5), Clan Legend (3/1), Vengeur De Guye (5/1)
A closely-knit affair with GOLDENCARD the narrow pick of the quartet having run well on his chasing debut at Sedgefield finishing second but certainly suggesting that are races to be won with him over fences. Clan Legend is an interesting character and perhaps even moreso now that he has cheekpieces fitted for the first time as he lurks on a good mark if he still has the pace for this sort of trip. Dual C&D winner Vengeur De Guye will be more at home in this company but might not have as much scope as the selection on these terms. Commis D’Office can’t be ruled out even though he’s conceding fitness to the other three, his yard are in terrific form at the moment.

- Commis D'Office
- Clan Legend
