Mixed messages in a number of starts over hurdles and the larger obstacles since May. Down the field and never a factor in a Navan 2m4f soft ground handicap over timber recently and could be vulnerable to better handicapped sorts here.
Only won twice over hurdles in 29 starts and comes here on the back of a number of wretched efforts over timber since last month. Handicapper relents but still plenty of work to be done.
Justified long odds-on favouritism with the minimum of fuss at Clonmel before tailing off in a Fairyhouse 2m4f novice hurdle on soft ground last month. No surprise to witness a return to form.
Deservedly off the mark at the 12th time of asking for connections when landing a Ballinrobe handicap hurdle in September over a similar trip off a 12lb lower mark. Has continued to run well in defeat since and one for any shortlist.
On terms when falling two out in a Navan 2m6f soft/heavy ground handicap hurdle last month. Looks a progressive type and qualifies as a leading player in this contest.
Struggling in a number of desperate efforts over hurdles since her debut over timber 12 months ago. Profile suggests she is worth taking on once again.
Won her maiden at the second time of asking for connections when landing a Wexford 2m4f contest in June. Has been running well in defeat in a couple of starts over hurdles since October. Bit more needed but enters calculations.
Hints of a return to form in a recent visit to Punchestown over 2m5½f on soft ground. Needs a few to falter to place his claim here in first time blinkers.
One from 13 starts over hurdles. The daughter of Beneficial has been running with plenty of credit in a number of starts over both fences and timber since September. One to note in this contest.
Eight-race maiden over hurdles but the daughter of Kalanisi has proceeded to hit the frame in five of those starts. Not seen since January, possibly best watched on return to action in first time cheekpieces.
Bumper winner in May the daughter of Flemensfirth has struggled in a number of starts over hurdles since October. More than capable of a big run on handicap debut and any market move should be noted.
Down the pack in a couple of starts over hurdles last month before a better effort in a Clonmel 2m½f soft ground handicap three weeks ago finishing sixth of 14 beaten 7¼L. More needed with a couple of better handicapped sorts lurking.
Sole success over hurdles was back in March last year. About to run her best race for sometime when coming down at the last at Thurles last month. Others hold stronger claims.
Forecasts
Bay Ambition (11/4), Minx Tiara (7/1), Mag Brady (8/1), Moskovite (8/1), Peace N' Milan (8/1), Kalanisi Og (10/1), Cash Me Outside (10/1), Madera Express (10/1), Bee A Beneficiary (10/1), Miss Cognac (12/1), Pivotal Flame (12/1), Princess Mahler (14/1), Awayinthewest (25/1)
The Noel Meade-trained MISS COGNAC has to put a number of poor maiden hurdle efforts behind her but the daughter of Flemensfirth is more than capable of improvement on handicap debut in this company. The four-year-old can get off the mark at the fourth time of asking over hurdles ahead of the Willie Mullins-trained Kalanisi Og and October Downpatrick winner Bay Ambition for trainer Gavin Cromwell. The Paul Nolan-trained Cash Me Outside can go well at a price.
- Miss Cognac
- Kalanisi Og
- Bay Ambition
