Well held when never a factor in three career bumper starts so far. Recent form unlikely to be good enough in this contest.
Gelding by Gold Well out of a Bigstone mare. No impression on debut in a Fairyhouse bumper when last seen in February. Unlikely to be making a significant impact in this contest.
Shantou gelding. Dam a decent 2m hurdle winner, half-sister to fairly useful hurdler/chaser Joe Cullen who stayed 2m4f. Encouraging debut finishing second of 18 beaten ½L behind Sneaky Getaway at Cork when last seen in April.

Gelding by Getaway out of a Sadler's Wells mare. Cost €75,000 as a three-year-old. Pleasing debut to finish sixth of 16 beaten 16L behind Joshua Webb in a Navan 2m bumper last month. More to come.
Stowaway gelding out of a Darshaan mare. Half-brother to four winners including Act Alone, a winner over hurdles racing up to 2m3f. Market likely to be the best guide on debut.
Raintrap gelding. Dam unraced. Last of 11, tailed off and detached on debut over C&D last month. Likely to find it tough going here.
Irish Wells gelding out of a Mansonnien mare. Fell on point-to-point debut before an innocuous bumper debut in May. Signs of promise on return to action finishing fourth of 11 over C&D last month but more needed in this company.
Fame And Glory gelding. Not disgraced on debut finishing 9L adrift of Dewcup at Punchestown last month. Entitled to be in the firing line.
Sayif gelding out of a Marju mare. Cost €6,000 as a three-year-old. Half-brother to The Blue Bomber, winner over hurdles at 2m. Likely to improve for this debut encounter.

€78,000 3-y-o half-brother to trainer's smart chaser Baily Cloud and bumper winner Capilla. Weakened over 3f on debut in a Punchestown bumper on yielding ground when last seen in April. Others look open to more improvement.
Failed to make it to the track for the Godolphin organisation. Last of eight on bumper debut at Tramore before a 76L reversal at Wexford in October. Hard to make a case for
Gelding by High Chaparral out of a Inchinor mare. Cost €10,000 as a three-year-old. Half-brother to Chess Board, useful sort over hurdles. Market likely to reveal expectations on debut run.
Nothing of note in a couple of dismal efforts over hurdles since last month. First time cheekpieces unlikely to bring about the required amount of improvement needed to play a role here.

Daughter of Dylan Thomas out of a Langfuhr mare. Mixed bag of efforts since January and her second at Tramore in April appears to be a one-off.

Forecasts

General Counsel (4/5), Battle Of Actium (2/1), Getabay (10/1), Blue Ribbon (14/1), Ugo Du Misselot (20/1), Bulldoze (25/1), John Cannon (33/1), Drumbaragh (33/1), Barrow Bounty (33/1), Stowaway John (50/1), Endless Days (50/1), Allez George (50/1), Tom Dillinger (100/1), Mr Lombardi (100/1)

Verdict

Difficult to get away from the chances of GENERAL COUNSEL in the closing race of the day. The Shantou gelding shaped with promise behind Sneaky Getaway in a Cork bumper when last seen in April. His conqueror has since won a bumper at Limerick as well as landing a Flat maiden and handicap over similar trips. The Joseph O'Brien-trained Battle Of Actium in the colours of Gigginstown House Stud can emerge as the biggest danger. Getaboy for the trainer/jockey combination of Gordon Elliott and Jamie Codd looks capable of hitting the frame in this company.
  1. General Counsel
  2. Battle Of Actium
  3. Getabay
