Back to form with a long-priced win in a C&D handicap last time appreciating the return of the cheekpieces (previous win also in the same headgear). 6lb penalty demands more and probably a career-best and consistency has proved a problem in the past.
Built on a good second over this trip at Wolverhampton to record back-to-back victories and now goes in search of a hat-trick off 1lb less than her original handicap mark. Progressing well and likely to be hard to beat; strong traveller.
Not the easiest to catch right although he has on occasions produced some good winning performances and did so on his penultimate start at Southwell. Not in the same form last time underling his consistency problem; chance if he settles better.
Not been with this yard long, it may not be much longer until they find the key to him as he fared better than of late last time. Nudged down a further 1lb in the weights it might not be long before he takes advantage of a reduced mark back at 1m4f.
Now a veteran he's been a fair handicapper in the past but looks to be struggling to reach even that level at the moment. On a long losing run generally spoiling his chance by being slow away; has his quirks and not one to trust these days.
Forecasts
Renardeau (6/5), Guroor (6/4), Continuum (10/1), Adams Park (10/1), Contingency Fee (12/1)
The last three renewals of this race have seen winners returned at 33-1, 20-1 and 10-1 but in all likelihood it’s going to be a much shorter SP that gets returned this time with connections having found a good opening for GUROOR to complete her hat-trick. Progressing well of late she gets on well with Stefano Cherchi on board for her last two wins. Renardeau looks an obvious danger but he’s not the most consistent and faces a stiff task off this mark. Contingency Fee has two ways of running so it might be worth looking at Adams Park for the runner up slot with his shrewd yard appearing to close to finding the key to him and having a lenient mark to work with now.
- Guroor
- Adams Park
- Renardeau
