50/1

No real promise in a couple of bumpers before being sent hurdling, finishing down the field on both occasions. Market likely to reveal expectations on AW debut.

Form:

Chico One^t1¹⁸¹

Age: 4| Weight: 9-9| J: T E Whelan| T: L Comer

66/1

Casamento colt out of a Pivotal mare. Closely related to winners over 7f and 1m. Never nearer eighth of 12 beaten 9½L on debut in a Leopardstown 7f maiden when last seen in June. Looks vulnerable.

Form: 8

(16)

Double Talkin Jive^t¹²

Age: 4| Weight: 9-9| J: Billy Lee| T: P Martin

8/1

Winner of a Killarney 2m1f bumper in August before a couple of reversals in similar company in October/November. Ran well in defeat on first start here over 1m2f earlier this month and capable of improvement.

Form: 5

11/4

Running well in defeat in a couple of starts on the Flat over 1m6f/1m5f at Bellewstown in July and Leopardstown in August. Seventh of 14 as a well backed second favourite on AW debut last month. Looks a bit early to be writing off just yet.

Form: 327

(13)

Lets Get Started⁵

Age: 4| Weight: 9-9| J: N G McCullagh| T: O McKiernan

25/1

Well held in a number of bumpers since July before a couple of dismal efforts on the polytrack since last month over C&D and when last seen earlier this month over 7f. Plenty to find in this group.

Form: 86

(2)

Mere Ironmonger²⁶

Age: 7| Weight: 9-9| J: Ross Coakley| T: J C McConnell

28/1

Kempton bumper winner in 2016 who has had his problems since. Down the field when making no impression on first start here on sole run for trainer David Marnane. Tough ask.

Form: 8

(15)

Narynkol^p1¹²

Age: 4| Weight: 9-9| J: J M Sheridan⁽⁷⁾| T: D Hogan| OR: 83

2/1

Five-race maiden not without ability in a couple of starts at Nottingham and Ripon in August, his final starts for trainer Roger Varian. Fancied to go well when fourth of 14 here earlier in the month and likely to improve for first-time cheekpieces.

Form: 632-224

(17)

Bashful Boy¹²

Age: 3| Weight: 9-5| J: K J Manning| T: J Feane| OR: 72

3/1

Vast improvement to finish second of 14 beaten 2L behind Golden Valour over 1m2½f earlier this month. Appears to have every chance of going close in this company.

Form: 4352

(10)

Go West Young Lad⁵⁶

Age: 3| Weight: 9-5| J: Seamie Heffernan| T: W P Mullins

25/1

Has not threatened in his two appearances so far, including latest effort at Navan over 1m5f where he was eighth of 11. Others appeal more.

Form: 88

(5)

Orlov

Age: 3| Weight: 9-5| J: Rory Cleary| T: P W Flynn

66/1

Society Rock gelding out of a Pearl Of Love mare. Closely related to Royal Diplomat, dual winner over 5f. Yards newcomers often come on for first start.

Daughter of So You Think out of a Johar mare. Dam last of 11 on her sole career start in a Clonmel bumper. Dwelt before making some late headway to finish eighth of 14 on debut over 7f at this track last month. Plenty more needed.

Forecasts

Narynkol (2/1), Hannon (11/4), Bashful Boy (3/1), Ela Katrina (3/1), Double Talkin Jive (8/1), Guinevere (12/1), Malvolio (16/1), Lets Get Started (25/1), Go West Young Lad (25/1), Mere Ironmonger (28/1), Rosy Life (50/1), Charlie Siringo (50/1), Coill Na Sionainne (50/1), Blackyellowred (50/1), Forgetthesurprise (50/1), Chico One (66/1), Orlov (66/1)

A couple of former Roger Varian-trainer runners take the eye in ELA KATRINA on first start for Ger Lyons. The filly stepped up on debut effort when finishing 10L seventh over 1m2f at Chelmsford in July before a career best effort to finish second of seven at Kempton over 1m4f last month on final start for the Suffolk handler and can get off the mark here for new connections. The other is the Denis Hogan-trained Narynkol who ran with credit to finish 5L adrift of Golden Valour on his first start at this venue earlier this month. Hannon for trainer John McConnell and the J J Feane-trained Bashful Boy can provide stiff opposition.
