Only out of the frame once in nine starts here, and added to his tally when holding off Skeaping in a seller here last time. 3lb rise makes life a fair bit harder, but step back up in trip may help. Solid chance at a "home" fixture.
Was looking on top when nearest rival crashed out at the last here on latest start, in the end winning easily; up 6lb for that but unexposed, and as long as the ground doesn't get too deep, big chance of the follow-up here.
Falling quickly down the handicap after a series of moderate efforts, usually sent off huge prices; hard to see why today should be any different, although tongue-tie may help; not hard to look elsewhere.
Coming back down to a workable mark now, and there are a few efforts on her card here that give her a squeak if she's ready to go after her summer break; possible pace setter, and hard to totally discount.
Came good at Huntingdon in October (over a shorter trip) but two runs off a hugher mark since then have proved less that fruitful; bit more required and unplaced in six starts at this trip. Plenty on his plate.
No more than bits and pieces of promise in novice hurdles to date, but gives impression this step up in trip will suit; interesting rider prefers her to stable companion Schap, but not seen out for a year, which is a concern.
Shown very little so far, although has at least finished on the same street as the winner on his last two starts, and this trip seems to suit; hard to make much of a case for him all the same.
Forecasts
Perfect Moment (4/5), Todd (5/2), Bentons Lad (6/1), Schap (12/1), Moroval (25/1), Cockney Seagull (25/1), Amethea (50/1)
This will take little winning. Todd simply doesn't know how to run a poor one at his beloved Fakenham and sets the benchmark for the others to aim at, but this mark has proved beyond him in the past year and it was only a seller he won last time. PERFECT MOMENT is far less exposed, did the job nicely here last time out and if she can build on that a little, could be the one to beat. The race for third looks wide open, with Amathea a possible improver nw tackling more of a trip.
- Perfect Moment
- Todd
- Amethea
