Likable mare won twice earlier in the year including a 4L defeat of Treackle Tart off level weights at Perth (3m, good to soft). No chance on return versus Lostintranslation but very much a player here.
Second to My Old Gold to end last season but better than even when winning a 3m1½f Warwick handicap first time out this term. Excuses latest as she slipped and expecting a bold bid now with reversal against the older My Old Gold possible.
Twice a winner last season before an excellent third in the 4m Scottish National. Rallying third at Ascot latest showed mark well within range and although a greater stamina test may be preferred he is clearly a leading player here.
Finally got his head in front over 2m4½f at Kempton in March before finishing season in fourth at Ayr. Still relatively unproven over 3m with excuses last time he tackled it but must not just stay but improve for the trip now.
Forecasts
Cloth Cap (4/5), Treackle Tart (7/2), My Old Gold (4/1), Forth Bridge (13/2)
Lightly-raced CLOTH CAP could be a National horse later in his career having run so well in the Scottish equivalent last season considering his relative inexperience. In a warmer race than this he ran well at Ascot last time and although he wouldn't want things to get too tactical over a flat 3m he is taken to land the spoils over mares My Old Gold and Treackle Tart who are closely matched on last season's Perth meet.
- Cloth Cap
- My Old Gold
- Treackle Tart
