Horse A-Z
Won latter start in bumpers, and made the perfect start over hurdles when staying on well to beat Captain Blackpearl by 2½L at Uttoxeter (2½m) last month. Will improve futrther, and looks up to defying a penalty with longer trip sure to suit.

Well held on hurdles debut at Kelso (soft) in January last year, and has failed to complete on both subsequent starts. Looks out of his depth again.

Looked in the process of getting off the mark when falling at the last at Kelso last month, but was a bit below the form he would have shown there when a one-paced fourth of 8 to Prince Kayf in a C&D novice 12 days ago. More required now.

Won a point-to-point in Devon in April before changing hands for £15,000. That form probably nothing special, and has plenty on his plate now making hurdling debut against useful rivals.

Rath An Iuir29
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-12| J: C O'Farrell| T: R Dobbin
3/1
Horse he beat in a point-to-point in October 2017 went on to beat City Island and Minella Indo in a bumper, so form looks strong. In need of the run when fourth to Victory Echo on belated hurdles debut last month, and he is sure to improve.

Forecasts

Orrisdale (11/10), Duc De Grissay (7/4), Rath An Iuir (3/1), Raise Your Hand (33/1), Castle On A Cloud (100/1)

Verdict

ORRISDALE won well on his hurdles debut at Uttoxeter, and looked as if a stiffer test of stamina would bring about improvement, so he's taken to defy a penalty. Rath An Iuir needed the run after an absence on his hurdles debut, and with his point win working out well, he's clearly a big threat. Duc de Grissay was unlucky not to win on his penultimate start, but this is harder, and he will do well to trouble the selection.
  1. Orrisdale
  2. Rath An Iuir
  3. Duc De Grissay
