Landed Nottingham 6f nursery in heavy ground off 7lb lower mark in October, and while not disgraced since has been a touch disappointing. Having a second try at 7f this time which may help the cause.
Shown ability all four starts and made pleasing handicap debut when fair second in Chepstow 6f nursery in September. 3lb higher prior to young rider's 7lb allowance, and extra 1f makes sense. Yard in decent nick at present.
Placed 3-6 in novice auction events to date and makes handicap bow here for top yard. First-time blinkers may sharpen him up so no reason why he shouldn't be there or thereabouts.
Runner-up at Nottingham in June in 6f heavy ground novice auction stakes then one paced third at Ayr in July. Not seen since and has been gelded. Handicap debut for yard going through a quiet spell but worth a market check.
600,000 euros Lope De Vega colt who is beginning to look expensive after five starts, including when twice beaten favourite (once odds-on). Stepped up to a mile last time at Newcastle and appeared not to get home. No surprise to see him back at 7f.
Second in Chelmsford 7f novice auction stakes in August then failed by just half a length to win over C&D time after. Ran badly when last of 11 back here last month and has something to prove at present off 2lb lower mark.
Tamayuz filly out of unraced but well bred sprinter-related dam. Shown some ability all three starts although was a shade disappointing when distant third at Chelmsford latest. Handicap bow though for top yard and may do better now.
Nothing to write home about in four starts this summer but seemed to do better last week following break when close third in Lingfield 7f nursery. Every chance here off same mark and with good claimer allowed 5lb.
Patchy form from five starts to date but has some claims on close second here over 6f penultimate start off 2lb lower mark. Didn't convince on stamina front over C&D last time so has a bit to prove.
Forecasts
Kohoof (5/2), Danny Ocean (7/2), Broken Rifle (7/1), Sky Vega (8/1), Ruby Power (8/1), Maysong (12/1), Hello Baileys (12/1), Rajguru (14/1), Magical Force (14/1)
Making her debut in a handicap, KOHOOF is expected to go well having run respectably in her three outings so far in novice company. There are plenty here with chances though in a typically tight-knit affair, and the first-time blinkers may well help the cause of Hello Baileys, while Broken Rifle and Ruby Power are also worth considering. The frustrating Sky Vega drops back from a mile and his hopes appear to rest on the cheekpieces livening him up.
- Kohoof
- Hello Baileys
- Broken Rifle
