Progressed well this spring winning four times; three over fences. Returns from five-month absence and has appeared unsuited by soft ground in the past. Only 2lb higher though than h'cap hurdle win at Ffos Las in June.
Third over C&D last season off 6lb higher. Popped up at 18/1 when winning Hexham heavy ground h'cap hurdle on reappearance last month and will need to defy 10lb rise in the weights to score again.
Fairly unexposed seven-race maiden who ran well for a long way last time at Market Rasen before tiring late on. May benefit from stronger handling this time and should not be far away for yard ticking over steadily at present.
Westerner gelding having just his fourth run under Rules and first outing in a handicap. Hasn't shown very much so far but small yard has decent strike-rate so worth noting for any market interest.
Going shouldn't be an issue as won 1m4f Flat h'cap in heavy ground in September last year for Jonnie Portman. Has shown little to speak off in three starts over timber date and needs to raise her game on handicap bow.
Very modest maiden middle-distance Flat handicapper but took a step forward over C&D last time when good second in juvenile hurdle. Handicap bow taking on older horses but is in with a shout if building on latest effort for top local yard.
Veteran who remains a maiden after 23 attempts and will do very well to trouble the judge on the evidence of two poor runs so far this season. Others very much preferred.
39 races under both codes without a win and races from 4lb out of the handicap, but did run well here in August over 2m4f. Not seen since and drop back in trip may not be ideal but yard among the winners. Soft ground has to be a concern though.
Forecasts
Nefyn Point (9/4), Wor Verge (3/1), Juals Spirit (4/1), Alltimegold (6/1), Kisumu (8/1), Cheers Jd (16/1), Homing Star (20/1), Cadgers Hole (100/1)
Wor Verge seemed to revel in heavy ground when landing a surprise win at Hexham last time but the 10lb rise makes life much tougher. He should be thereabouts but preference is for JUALS SPIRIT who was poor on the Flat but could do better at the winter game. This Ravens Pass filly seemed to handle the ground when second in a juvenile event over C&D last time and is very interesting on handicap bow. Top weight Alltimegold is feared if handling conditions, but has seemed better suited by decent ground in the past, while a case can also be made for Nefyn Point who ran well enough last time.
- Juals Spirit
- Wor Verge
- Alltimegold
