7/4
Has now failed to justify favouritism on his last four starts and starting to get expensive to follow; generally reliable, however, this step up in trip should suit but looks a little vulnerable.

Handicap debut; ran into a much better horse last time out at this track in late November clearly enjoying the step up in trip; definite chance if reproducing latest form; respected.

Fleet Street10
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-1| J: R Havlin| T: J & T Gosden| OR:  74
8/1
Has been making steady, if unspectacular, progress in novice events since her debut in September; should be suited by this extra furlong and certainly worth a check in market on handicap debut.

Siberian Night6
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-5| J: L Morris| T: E Walker| OR:  64| BF
2/1
Suited by the step up in trip last time out on his handicap debut over course and distance; was still a little green and has scope to progress; looks to have a leading chance.

Red Jasperb18
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-5| J: Theodore Ladd(3)| T: M Appleby| OR:  64
10/1
The most experienced in the field and generally runs his race (though still a maiden); needs to bounce back from below par run last time out over course and distance and likely to deservedly start as the outsider here.

Forecasts

Baadirr (7/4), Siberian Night (2/1), Hurricane Alex (4/1), Fleet Street (8/1), Red Jasper (10/1)

Verdict

SIBERIAN NIGHT ran his best race to date last time out over course and distance and would not have to improve too much to be the leading candidate in this interesting contest. He ran with a certain amount of greenness that day and if running more maturely, he may prove hard to beat. Hurricane Alex is another is in good form and ran into a decent type last time out at this track over seven furlongs. Likely to be suited by this step up in trip, he deserves closer examination. Baadirr rarely runs a poor race but has proved difficult to win with. He will win races in time but may have to wait for another day. It will be interesting to see if Fleet Street has got into the handicap off a fair mark
  1. Siberian Night
  2. Hurricane Alex
  3. Baadirr
