Modest handicapper was pulled up latest on return after 11 months off in a Thurles mares' chase in October. Difficult to see where the improvement is coming from at her age.

Mary Frances21
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-7| J: Sean Flanagan| T: M Hassett| OR:  127
5/1
Winner of two of 14 starts over timber. Well held in a couple of starts in March before a solid run over C&D last month finishing second of 11 beaten 1L behind Westerner Point. Plenty to prove on ratings but the mare has plenty going for her here.

Forecasts

Rathvinden (11/10), Total Recall (3/1), Mary Frances (5/1), The Storyteller (6/1), Class Conti (9/1), Allannahs Gold (66/1), Kilkarney Mai (100/1)

Verdict

Winner of two of her 14 starts over hurdles, it may be worth taking a chance on MARY FRANCES who can go well at a price in this contest. The daughter of Well Chosen has a number of higher profile rivals to conquer but the seven-year-old ran with plenty of credit on return to action over C&D last month. The mare finished with 1L of the winner Westerner three weeks ago and can land the spoils here ahead of game veteran, Rathvinden and Punchestown Gold Cup third The Storyteller. Total Recall, one of three in the race for trainer Willie Mullins should not be taken lightly.
  1. Mary Frances
  2. Rathvinden
  3. Total Recall
