Course winner over 1m4f on his Fibresand he ran just as well on his only other visit here over the same trip (finished second). Hasn't quite lived up to those two performances in three runs since; well below-par last time, tongue-tie now goes on.
Dual C&D winner but has also turned in some moderate displays here despite still being off a mark lower than those two wins. Raced freely over 2m here last time and can be slow away, no surprise if he comes up a little short again here.
Did better than for a while last time over 2m here (finished behind The Resdev Way) maintaining what has become a fairly lengthy losing streak in a muddling affair. First-time blinkers now given a go in an attempt to find some spark; back 2f in trip.
Three-times a course winner he's only once finished outside the first two in eight course visits. All his wins have come at 2m, with his only run at this trip resulting in a second; rarely runs a bad race here, sound claims if ready after a break.
Course winner over 2f shorter his performances here since haven't lived up to that level (both over 2m). Well below form last time when he lost his place from halfway and comes here with something to prove dropping back in trip.
Forecasts
Argus (9/4), Tynecastle Park (3/1), Tigray (10/3), Pumblechook (11/2), The Resdev Way (13/2)
All of these have proved themselves on the surface with TYNECASTLE PARK having a record over staying trips that reads 2212211, his one “failure” at the track coming on his debut over 1m. He returns from a fair break (has run well fresh) in the same colours/ownership as last year’s winner, he could well continue his good record on the Fibresand. The Redsev Way and Pumblechook clashed here last time and those two are expected to run soundly again although the placings could be reversed. Tigray and Argus both have something to prove from their last starts but given they are both course winners can’t be totally written off.
- Tynecastle Park
- Pumblechook
- Argus
