Kerry Lee Trains In Herefordshire Novices' Hurdle

Off time: 13:00 | Winning time: 5m 4.70s

Olly The Brave²³

Age: 6| Weight: 11-4| J: Bridget Andrews| T: D Skelton| OR: 128| C

4/5

Not finished out of the first three yet and made it two wins from his last three outings with game success in 2m novice here earlier this month. Contends with penalty for that win but sets the form standard.

Form: 2-131

Arvico's Light²³⁵

Age: 5| Weight: 10-12| J: Lee Edwards| T: S-J Davies

150/1

Arvico gelding. Raced keenly and paid the price for those exertions when weakening into tailed off 15th in bumper at Chepstow (2m) in April. Looks to face a tough ask on hurdles debut.

Form: 0-

Brummie Boys²²⁷

Age: 4| Weight: 10-12| J: L P Aspell| T: O Sherwood

7/1

Flemensfirth gelding who is related to some smart types. Showed promise without failing to trouble the leaders when third at Wincanton (2m) in bumper in April. Every chance he can improve over hurdles.

Form: 3-

Croftlands Blaze^h³⁹

Age: 4| Weight: 10-12| J: Benjamin Poste| T: Katy PriceWS

150/1

Tailed off on bumper debut at Worcester last month and occupied the same position (last) at Ffos Las (2m) nine days later. Very little appeal on hurdles debut.

Form: 00

Detatched¹⁹

Age: 7| Weight: 10-12| J: J McGrath| T: Henry Oliver

50/1

Point-to-point winner but nothing of the level under rules. Beaten 29L into eighth at Warwick last time and much more required against some promising types.

Form: 3/1P-8P8

Dhowin²⁶

Age: 5| Weight: 10-12| J: R P McLernon| T: J & A O'Neill

12/1

Bets effort came when second in Wetherby bumper (2m) in March and stayed on for never dangerous sixth at that venue (2m3f) on hurdles debut. Entitled to improve which he'll need to do.

Form: 52-6

Evenstevens¹³

Age: 4| Weight: 10-12| J: L Treadwell| T: A Ralph

80/1

10,000gns purchase as a three-year-old who has a chasing pedigree. Sent off 66/1 in strong-looking hurdle on debut and ran accordingly when pulling up. This is easier but will still need more.

Form: P

Exod'ela²⁶

Age: 5| Weight: 10-12| J: G Sheehan| T: Jamie Snowden| BF

5/2

Irish point-to-point winner who was a promising second on debut for this yard before regressing slightly to finish third of nine at Uttoxeter (2m) at the start of the month. Step up in trip could bring more out of him.

Form: 1-23

Illdoittomorrow²³

Age: 4| Weight: 10-12| J: David Noonan| T: Katy Price

150/1

little encouragement in three starts to date and beaten the furthest he has been when 64L ninth in 2m race here last time. Makes very little appeal on form.

Form: 609

Jobsonfire^h1¹⁹

Age: 7| Weight: 10-12| J: Alan Johns| T: S Allwood

150/1

Modest performer in the point-to-point sphere and faring little better under rules. More significantly needed based on 11th placed effort at Warwick (2m3f) last time.

Form: 1FP-U90

Little Ginge¹⁹⁹

Age: 6| Weight: 10-12| J: James Nixon⁽⁵⁾| T: Miss V Williams

40/1

Very little signs of ability to date and was recently left to finish distant fourth on debut at Ludlow (2m5f) in May. Best watched on seasonal reappearance.

Form: 88-4

Ring The Moon^b1,t1⁷

Age: 6| Weight: 10-12| J: Adam Wedge| T: Evan Williams

100/1

Best attempt so far came when second in Ffos Las bumper in July. Way off that level since and makes little appeal on 13th placed effort at Chepstow (2m) in November.

Form: 9/32-090

Sabbathical^p1,t1¹³

Age: 4| Weight: 10-12| J: Conor Ring⁽³⁾| T: Evan Williams

80/1

Second in point-to-point sphere but well-beaten on debut start for this yard before pulling up at Ludlow (2m5f) last time. Looks to be stable's second-string on jockey bookings.

Form: 2-8P

The Wire Flyer^p¹⁷

Age: 4| Weight: 10-12| J: P J Brennan| T: J L Flint

10/1

Well-beaten on first run over hurdles but greatly exceeded expectations when 50/1 second in Ffos Las novice earlier this month. Claims if replicating that form.

Form: 52

Valentine's Turf

Age: 4| Weight: 10-12| J: Nick Scholfield| T: Christian Williams

100/1

König Turf gelding and is the first foal of a dam who was unraced on the track. Pedigree offers very little to the eye but yard can do well with these types so worth a betting check.

Form:

Non-Runners

I'm Wiser Now²⁶

Weight: 10-12| Age: 5

T: F O'Brien J: Non Runner

Forecasts

Olly The Brave (4/5), Exod'ela (5/2), Brummie Boys (7/1), The Wire Flyer (10/1), Dhowin (12/1), Little Ginge (40/1), Detatched (50/1), Evenstevens (80/1), Sabbathical (80/1), Ring The Moon (100/1), Valentine's Turf (100/1), Jobsonfire (150/1), Croftlands Blaze (150/1), Illdoittomorrow (150/1), Arvico's Light (150/1)

Despite being shouldered with a penalty, OLLY THE BRAVE sets the form standard on his recent success at this track. He looks to be a chaser in the making and the step up in distance should prove to be no issue. The Wire Flyer caused a shock to finish second last time out, but evidence of that effort shows it was to be no fluke and the jockey booking is notable. The likes of Exod'ela and Brummie Boys may plug on for the places, with the latter a dark horse making his hurdles debut and should be watched.
