Supported prior to his promising second on debut in a Ludlow bumper (good) in May. Bags of stamina in his pedigree, so this trip should be ideal. Could go well on hurdles introduction.

Debut Irish point winner in February, and went on to be placed in two more before changing hands for £20,000 in May. Half-brother to three winners from 2m2f-3m2f. Tongue-tied for rules debut. Market check.

Irish point winner in June (fifth attempt), after which he changed hands for €32,000. Brother to 2m7f chase winner, so it was unlikely that the 2m1f trip would have suited when pulled up on debut. Anticipating better here.
Not devoid of ability, judged on his debut bumper run at Market Rasen in June. However, has shown little in two hurdles so far. Can only watch.
Stayed on despite being well held on debut in a Newbury bumper in March. That augurs well for a better effort now upped in trip for his hurdles debut. Has had wind surgery since debut. Comes from a good family and should improve here.

Irish point winner (sixth start) in March. 50-1 and well held on rules debut in a maiden bumper at Uttoxeter. Can only watch on hurdles introduction.

7-1 and tailed off on debut in a Huntingdon bumper in March. No better on his hurdles debut at Stratford (2m6f, soft) last month. Still early days, but much more needed.

8/15
Point winner (third start) in March. Joined this stable after. 14-1 and ran well on debut at Stratford (2m6f, soft) last month. That is the best piece of form on offer in this field, and he looks the one to beat.

Forecasts

Terrierman (8/15), Mercian Knight (5/1), Aughnacurra King (11/2), Amanofhisword (7/1), Tension Time (14/1), Dom Garo Cateline (25/1), Castleplunkett Kid (40/1), Begoodtoyourself (100/1), Molpeg (100/1)

Verdict

A very weak contest on paper and after showing promise on debut, TERRIERMAN looks to have been found a good opportunity by Dan Skelton. Mercian Knight could prove to be the danger, while Amanofhisword, Aughnacurra and Begoodtoyourself all look worth monitoring for any market warmth.
  1. Terrierman
  2. Mercian Knight
  3. Amanofhisword
