Off 10 months latest when below par at Roscommon but had finished second in last three over fences the previous season so little doubt there's mileage in this mark if he can bounce back to somewhere near his best now.
Opened account over fences when landing Clonmel novice in February over similar trip, his sixth run over these obstacles. Fit from recent hurdles second and may progress.
Winner over hurdles and the larger obstacles in November/December last year. Well held and no impression on comeback run in a Cork 2m3f handicap hurdle and midfield run at Clonmel 12 days ago also gives him plenty to find.
Lightly raced over fences and in handicaps but went well at Cork latest when fourth and having finished second off a mark just 2lb lower over hurdles last season he is a really intriguing contender here.
Still awaiting breakthrough over fences (1-14 over hurdles) but definite signs that is now imminent after seconds at Downpatrick and Down Royal to start this season. Leading contender here.
Won twice at Clonmel last term (2m and 2m7f) before finishing second at Tramore. Below par on return at Navan over hurdles but should come forward plenty to be competitive here.
In good form in spring of 2018 but eight unplaced races since suggest him a regressive chaser and hurdler and despite an ever sliding mark others appeal more.
Multiple point-to-point winner just the one win under rules and ended last season with a couple of ordinary efforts. Can go well fresh so market a guide here.
Winner of a 3m1f Kilbeggan handicap in the summer finished fourth and fifth since over the same C&D off a mark 1lb higher than she carries here. Drop in trip no issue; each way claims.
Left all previous form behind when a 20/1 winner at Naas (2m4f) latest in the first time cheekpieces which are retained today. Gets an extra 7lb on her back but could be open to more improvement now so rated a leading candidate.
Finished runner-up three times in this sphere during the spring including when beaten a neck behind Cecil Corbett at Downpatrick (good) over an extended 2m7f on his penultimate outing. Well held last twice however so has risks attached now.
Jumped poorly on return at Roscommon and was tailed off throughout before being puled up at Fairyhouse latest. Lots to prove now.
3-30 overall and although the veteran's last win did come here that was back in 2017 and his form last year strongly suggested regression.
Hints of bouncing back to form when running Allduckornodinner to 3L in an 11-runner 3m1f handicap chase on yielding ground here last month. Inconsistent sort needs to back that run up here.
Forecasts
Rocky's Silver (7/2), Guided By You (6/1), Fiveaftermidnight (7/1), Frankly All Talk (7/1), Halsafari (7/1), Robin De Roost (8/1), Sir Bob (14/1), Spancil Hill (16/1), Kilbrew Gold (16/1), Luckyinmilan (16/1), Carrignagapple (20/1), Don't Let Go (20/1), Flynsini (25/1), Garrai Phaidin (33/1)
A chance is taken here on HALSAFARI for Michael Bowe. The relatively lightly raced six-year-old ran well in his final start in a handicap hurdle and suggested he has now found his feet over fences last time out at Cork. Noel Meade's dual runner-up Guided By You and recent scorer Fiveaftermidnight headline the rivals.
- Halsafari
- Guided By You
