Bumper winner has a few questions to answer now having pulled up and unseated in his last two over hurdles. Is bred to jump a fence but latest erratic display of jumping a concern.
Broke his maiden over fences at Uttoxeter (2m4f) back in September. Has been unable to follow it up since but he has been running consistently well. He was only ¾L away last time in second place on his return to Uttoxeter (2m4f). Leading contender.
Maiden over hurdles well held in lone handicap to date off a 3lb higher mark so will have to improve plenty here although her point-to-point background suggests that entirely possible.
Poor strike-rate (1-22) and his lone win came way back in 2016 at odds of 1/25. Relatively lightly raced over fences (0-6) but hard to fancy on balance of evidence.
Won over 3m here over hurdles last February before underperforming in final start of the season. Now over fences and although she isn't bred for them she is in the hands of a top chasing trainer so looks a serious contender today.
Unplaced in eight races overall and lone chase saw him fall at Huntingdon back in May. Sure there is something under the bonnet but risky at this juncture.
Stratford winner in 2018 but failed to complete in five of his last seven including when pulled up a long way out latest and on balance he is now very hard to recommend.
0-10 overall and again beaten a long way at Lingfield last time out so hard to fancy today.
14-race maiden under Rules and getting no nearer when last seen in the spring. Not getting any younger and patience now worn very thin.
Forecasts
Beni Light (2/1), Arqalina (5/2), Great Tempo (7/2), Ector (5/1), Summit Like Herbie (10/1), Miss Zip (14/1), Leaving Home (16/1), Sustainable Star (20/1), Monet Moor (50/1)
With few of his rivals achieving a great deal over fences at this stage this looks a decent opportunity for consistent BENI LIGHT to gain a second win over fences; his accomplished jumping is certainly an ace card in the pack. The mare Arqalina looks the most appealing newcomer to fences having impressed over hurdles here last season and she is preferred to Miss Zip who ias likely to be a better chaser than hurdler.
- Beni Light
- Arqalina
- Miss Zip
