5/1
Six-time winner in point-to-points but hurdles debut comes after 607 days on the sidelines so of limited appeal today.
2
Horse silk
50/1
Only completed once in points and tailed off here at 50/1 on Rules debut. This may be slightly easier but no cause for optimism.
3
Horse silk
66/1
Reasonably well fancied so disappointing that he was tailed off here in his lone bumper last December. Bred to do better now over hurdles and expectant of more positive outcome today.
4
Horse silk
12/1
Son of Multiplex far from disgraced in a warm bumper here last month finishing fourth of the 10 runners. Bred to do better over obstacles so not taken lightly today.
Bought by connections after Listowel bumper second on debut and duly won first time up at Uttoxeter. Now goes over hurdles but few from this yard need a second look so expectant of a bold bid today.
Winner of a Worcester bumper on debut was unable to follow up subsequently under a penalty at Stratford but now over hurdles he looks a leading contender for his prolific yard which does so well with novice hurdlers.

Age: 7|  Weight: 11-0| J: S Bowen| T: Miss R Curtis
6/1
76-rated Flat performer lightly raced for his age. Bred to jump a hurdle and handles testing ground well. Respected runner.

Horse silk
100/1
Only previous sighting was in a 2015 point-to-point. Off 1692 days since that non-descript effort so makes no appeal.

Forecasts

Jack Valentine (10/11), Leroy Brown (3/1), Colorado Doc (5/1), Summer Name (6/1), Gilwen Grayson (12/1), Flying Garry (50/1), Gallic Geordie (66/1), Why So Keen Bob (100/1)

Verdict

Venetia Williams' hurdles debutant JACK VALENTINE made a really good impression when winning at Uttoxeter on his debut for the yard. He ought to do better still now over hurdles and is preferred to fellow bumper winner Leroy Brown who will no doubt win races himself soon enough over obstacles. Once-raced Gilwen Grayson shaped with promise here in a bumper and he looks best of the rest.
  1. Jack Valentine
  2. Leroy Brown
  3. Gilwen Grayson
