Has struggled in all three of his starts so far. He finished his race for the first time on his latest attempt over this C&D but came back at the rear of 13 runners. Very difficult to make a case for on what he has shown.

Former French raider who was sixth of 11 on his UK debut at Cheltenham (2m½f) last month. He was in contention before fading in the run-in. This assignment looks easier. One to think about.
3
Horse silk
100/1
Had just one horse behind him in a 13 runner field over this C&D on his debut after going off at 100/1. Needs to take a huge stride forward to be in the mix on his second appearance on the track.

Has yet to shine in two starts under Rules. He was seventh of nine on his latest effort at Ffos Las (2m) where he weakened with 2f to go to come home 44L off the winner. Needs to make a significant improvement.

Scored in a point-to-point at Dawstown (3m). Made an encouraging start to his career under Rules when he was second of 14 at Exeter (2m1f) after going off as the 2/1 joint-favourite. Open to improvement. Big player.

50/1
Dual-purpose gelding who has yet to score in 15 starts. He was eighth of 13 in a maiden hurdle at Taunton over the extended 2m trip last time. Is very much exposed now so many others are preferred.
7
Horse silk
40/1
Has been a long way down the field in his two starts under Rules. His last appearance came earlier this month at Ascot (1m7½f) where he was sixth of eight runners. Needs to take a huge step forward.
Sholokhov gelding whose dam was lightly raced on the Flat in Germany and a half-sister to Nestor who prevailed over 2m. Market likely to speak volumes about his chances on his opening start.
9
Horse silk
50/1
Has yet to be competitive in two appearances under rules. He was 11th of 13 on his latest attempt at Plumpton (2m) where he was never on terms with his rivals. Hard to fancy on what he has shown to date.

Finished eighth of nine on his debut back in April at Taunton over the extended 2m trip after going off at 100/1. He was slowly away on his first start and never got into the contest. Best to watch on his second run.

Horse silk
40/1
Finished second of seven in a bumper at Ffos Las (2m) three runs ago in what was his best attempt so far. Could only come home ninth of 12 at Hereford (2m) on his latest outing. Others appeal more.

Has yet to threaten in the closing stages of his two races under Rules. He was ninth of 13 last time over this C&D where he went off at 66/1 in a maiden hurdle. Needs to show much more to be in the mix.

Is still a maiden after three starts, although he has hit the frame on his last two runs, including last time at Stratford (2m½f) when he was third of eight in a bumper after going off as the 11/10 favourite. One for the shortlist.

Was a winner on four occasions on the Flat. Came down in the closing stages of the race when he was well-beaten on his hurdles debut at Plumpton (2m). Will wear a hood for the first time here. Best to watch.

Remains a maiden after eight appearances where there have been few encouraging signs. He was third of seven on his latest outing at Newton Abbot (2m1f), albeit 40L off the winner. Very difficult to make a case for him here.
16
Horse silk
66/1
Made a modest start to his career at Wincanton (1m7½f) when she was fifth of nine. Went backwards last time as she was 10th of 13 at Exeter (2m1f) after going off at 66/1. Others appeal more in the race.

Getaway Fred (11/10), Cap Du Mathan (7/4), Shang Tang (4/1), Nautical Star (20/1), Zlatan (33/1), Sastruga (40/1), Maasai Warrior (40/1), Ring The Moon (40/1), One For Dunstan (50/1), Jawshan (50/1), Zulu (66/1), Princess T (66/1), Chinwag (100/1), Freedelivery (100/1), Avoir De Soins (125/1), Richardson (150/1)

Verdict

GETAWAY FRED made an encouraging start to his career under Rules when he was second Exeter. The winner has since come out and won again so take the gelding to go one place better this time. Cap Du Mathan just found the hill at Cheltenham too challenging last time or else his final position would have been better. He can build upon that here on his second start in the UK, while Shang Tang can hit the frame on his hurdles debut on the basis of his bumper form.
  1. Getaway Fred
  2. Cap Du Mathan
  3. Shang Tang
