Flat maiden, she landed a Catterick novice on New Year's Day but has failed to make an impact in handicaps since, even allowing for sliding mark. Poor effort last month at Plumpton.
Yet to place in eight starts over timber; ended last season with positive fourth at Huntingdon (2m4½f, good to soft; 8-1) but laboured and hung badly right on return at Southwell last month.
Unconvincing so far over timber, might have finished second at Fontwell in a maiden in March but crashed out late on. Well beaten in Plumpton handicaps afterwards and has something to prove on seasonal bow.
Penny appeared to drop with Wincanton second over 2m5½f last month and duly built on that to score at Taunton (3m, good; 11-4) since. 7lb higher now but finds a presentable chance in follow-up attempt.
Mixed bag so far, opened account in 3m Southwell novices' handicap in May and twice ran well at that track afterwards. First run off a break and looks likely to require improvement against some race-fit rivals.
Twice won over hurdles in 2018, including in a Hexham amateur riders handicap over this sort of trip from a mark 18lb higher than this. Form has nosedived since, including recent return post wind surgery.
Forecasts
Viking Ruby (1/1), Perfect Moment (9/2), Taras Day (5/1), Broadway Belle (5/1), Quasha (8/1), Lassana Angel (20/1)
Neil Mulholland's VIKING RUBY shaped well at Wincanton before opening her account when tackling 3m at Taunton 20 days ago. The stamina-test appeared to suit and in a race where there isn't great depth she should defy a 7lb rise with further progress likely. The rest are hard to fancy, with perhaps the returning Taras Day best placed; while Broadway Belle would have claims on her old form.
