Dual Fontwell 2m6f handicap chase winner last year with the last win coming off an 8lb lower mark. Proved himself off mark like this since and ran well over a trip (3m) that was likely a little too testing at Ffos Las last time; player back in trip.

Capable of winning something like this on his day although it took the advantage of a career-low mark to score at Southwell last year (8lb lower mark). Only completed one of his three starts since then (unseated rider last time); others appeal more.

Le Coeur Nett8

Course winner over 2m1f in heavy conditions; lightly-raced these days he wasn't disgraced on his return at Ffos Las recently (2m, heavy). Yet to win over this trip but should be able to operate at it; capable of getting involved and can't be discount

5/4
Very lightly-raced since winning his on his chase debut over C&D (heavy ground, March 2018) when well supported (beat Le Coeur Net, 50L of level weights). Looked in need of the run when last seen; dropped 2lb, very much a player if supported.

Finnegan's Garden26

8/1
Three-times a C&D winner all off lower marks he failed to show anything like his form earlier in the year (completed a hat-trick) when returning last month. That run may have brought him on but does have something to prove off this mark.

Forecasts

Duhallow Lad (5/4), Bad Boy Du Pouldu (13/8), Le Coeur Net (9/4), Mortens Leam (13/2), Finnegan's Garden (8/1), Virnon (9/1)

Verdict

The form that Duhallow Lad showed when trouncing Le Coeur Net over C&D if it can be taken at face value gives the former of that duo a very good chance here although he’ll need to have come on from his recent reappearance run. Often well supported Alan Jones charge is of interest with his rival that day having a slight doubt about being able to operate at this trip. MORTENS LEAM showed up well last time out over a trip that just tested his stamina a little too much and with that run tucked away he should be able to defy this mark to record another victory. Finnegan’s Garden can’t be ignored due to his good course record but he will need to prove that he can cope with this mark.
  1. Mortens Leam
  2. Duhallow Lad
  3. Le Coeur Net
