Runner-up previous two starts at the track, including when stepped up to this trip last time behind a progressive rival. Should be firmly in the mix again.

Possibly didn't get home over 3m on chasing debut last month at Southwell (soft) last month, but had made steady progress from the rear before tiring and of interest dropping in distance.

Appeared to benefit from first-time cheekpieces when scoring at Newton Abbot (2m5f, good) in June, though not as good next time at Southwell over 3m. Down in trip back from a break and may bounce back.

Had some promising early form over fences in 2017 but missed 568 days thereafter; appeared to be readying a challenge at Plumpton (2m3½f, heavy; 3-1) on second start back only to unseat. Could have something to offer.

Has shown very little in five starts and readily opposed after a layoff and being 3lb out of the handicap here.

Forecasts

Eclair De Guye (5/2), Battle Of Ideas (5/2), Reallyradical (5/2), Bad Boy Du Pouldu (4/1), Beet Topper (16/1)

Verdict

Colin Tizzard's horses are generally running well and he was amongst the winners at Cheltenham on Saturday. BATTLE OF IDEAS perhaps didn't quite get home over 3m at Southwell when last spotted in July but this drop in trip should suit the previous Newton Abbot winner. Reallyradical gave best to a progressive rival here last month and is a big danger, alongside Bad Boy Du Pouldu who appeared set to challenge before unseating last time at Plumpton.
  1. Battle Of Ideas
  2. Reallyradical
  3. Bad Boy Du Pouldu
