Won a Limerick novices' hurdle (2m, yielding) last year, but well beaten in all three starts since, and despite another 3lb drop, he has a bit to prove now.
Scored here over 2m (good) in August 2018. Would have claims from this mark if able to reproduce that, but seen only once since then and soft ground a concern.
Triple hurdles winner at up to 3m, including here last year. Acts on testing ground, but out of sorts under both codes of late, and this trip looks plenty short enough.
1-16, having scored at Limerick (2m, heavy) in March 2018 from a 10lb lower mark. Capable of being competitive on these terms if she can produce her best, but that is hard to predict.
Won a Killarney maiden hurdle in 2016, but has shown little worthwhile form for some time.
Got off the mark at the tenth attempt in a Tramore handicap hurdle (2m5½f, soft/heavy) last month, where she won comfortably. Up 8lb for that, so more needed, but has run well here before and could again be competitive.
Eight-race maiden who came closest to success when runner-up in a Kilbeggan bumper (soft) in August. Has seen plenty of action since then and looks fairly treated for this handicap debut. Not ruled out of the money.
Off the mark over hurdles at the ninth attempt at Tramore (2m, soft/heavy) last time. Up 6lb for that, but profile is inconsistent, so now has to prove he can back it up.
0-21 and although second at Limerick last time out, she was beaten 10L from today's mark. Not ruled out of the money, but looking exposed and more needed for the win.
Has dropped a total of 10lb for five successive handicap defeats. Only one of those, his sixth at Downpatrick in August, looks good enough to get him involved here.
Triple point winner, including on testing ground, but 0-29 under rules and hard to fancy on his return from an absence for a different trainer.
Showed promise on debut in a Naas bumper last year, but some way below that form on all subsequent starts, and looks to have a stiffish task from this mark.
Well held in all starts and looks likely to struggle again on these terms.
Dual hurdles winner last season (including on soft). 2lb higher than the more recent of those, at Thurles in March and arrives on the back a decent effort on the Flat last time. Contender.
Forecasts
Golden Glen (11/4), Still Alive (6/1), An Marcach (6/1), Macho Mover (8/1), Toms Courage (8/1), Killacolla (9/1), Lily Trotter (10/1), The Ballyboys (14/1), Jack Wade (16/1), Turpin Tale (18/1), Shadows Return (25/1), Princess Mahler (33/1), Thinkitplanitdoit (33/1), Knockraha Boss (66/1)
Jack Wade could be a player here if at his best, but he is less easy to predict than STILL ALIVE, who is on a very competitive mark, arrives in good form, and gets the vote. Macho Mover can't be ruled out, while others who could get involved are Golden Glen and Toms Courage.
- Still Alive
- Golden Glen
- Macho Mover
