Stable have a modest record in bumpers and this Supreme Sound gelding was soon struggling on debut at Ayr (2m, soft) 18 days ago; look elsewhere with confidence.
2
Horse silk
16/1
Cost £17,000 as a 3yo; second foal from an unraced mare; brother to the bumper winner Everlanes; likely to find others stronger.

2/1
Bought for £100,000 in March (fell at the last on sole point start) and now carries the silks of local owner John Dance; dam was an unraced half-sister to Monty's Pass; a rare Newcastle runner for Paul Nicholls.

Raemoir
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-12| J: Ryan Mania| T: R M Smith
80/1
Rajsaman gelding from an Oasis Dream mare; it's very difficult to envisage him playing any sort of constructive role on debut.
Bought for £6,000 in August after finishing runner-up in a point at Ballingarry (3m, good) earlier in the year; seemingly one for further down the line (fences).
7
Horse silk
7/1
Cost £18,000 as a 3yo; dam was a 2m-2m4f hurdle winner; missed the second half of last season (stable had a virus) after finishing an encouraging fourth of 14 to Corrieben Reiver over C&D last December; of interest.

Unohu
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-12| J: R Johnson| T: T Lacey
4/1
Kayf Tara gelding from an Alflora mare (Little Miss Flora) who represents a trainer among the winners this week; noteworthy that Richard Johnson travels north for the ride; market a helpful guide to expectations.
9
Horse silk
7/4
Westerner gelding from the French mare Un Jour D Ete; carries high profile silks for racecourse debut (Trevor Hemmings); any Nicky Richards-trained/Brian Hughes-ridden bumper runner is to be massively respected.
10
Horse silk
125/1
Germany mare; has shown precious little ability in defeat at big prices so far (Sedgefield and Hexham); can't be considered as a realistic solution; better judged once sent over obstacles.
11
Horse silk
28/1
Jeremy filly who sports a hood on racecourse debut; first foal from a point/bumper and 2m4f hurdle and chase winner (Sugar Bullet); faces some interesting looking rivals and may well benefit from this initial experience.

Forecasts

Wetlands (7/4), Jeremy Pass (2/1), Unohu (4/1), Trooper Turnbull (7/1), Empty Quarter (14/1), Cheeky Ricco (16/1), She's A Dancer (28/1), Shouldn't Be Here (50/1), Raemoir (80/1), Abrach Road (100/1), Heatherlea (125/1)

Verdict

Of those with previous bumper form the returning Trooper Turnbull makes most appeal for the Northumberland-based trainer Rose Dobbin, but in truth this race looks cherry-ripe for a newcomer with the shortlist including Wetlands (Nicky Richards), Unohu (Tom Lacey) and JEREMY PASS (Paul Nicholls). A final fence faller on his sole point start in March, the selection was picked up for £100,000 on behalf of the locally-based owner John Dance, and if making a winning rules debut would be providing Paul Nicholls (4-23, prior to today) with a rare Newcastle winner.
  1. Jeremy Pass
  2. Wetlands
  3. Trooper Turnbull
