By Milan; cost £19,000 in August (as a short-head winner of a 3m maiden at Sheriff Hutton); stayed on up the home straight when fourth (beaten 7½L) to Aurora Thunder on rules/stable/hurdles debut at Ayr (2m4½f, soft).
Cost €40,000 as a 3yo; made an encouraging debut (distant third) in a bumper here in March before struggling in stronger races thereafter; market helpful on hurdles debut.
Comfortable Clonmel bumper winner (2m, good) for John P O'Callaghan; 3-1 and somewhat of a disappointment on stable/hurdles debut at Huntingdon (2m3½f, good) four weeks ago; soft ground?
By Lucarno; ran to a similar level of form on her first two starts (Ludlow & Taunton) before a breathing problem hindered in a Cl 2 bumper at Cheltenham; switches to hurdles following wind surgery; Harry Cobden re-routes from Cheltenham.
Point winner (joined Lucinda Russell for £20,000 in May); runner-up in two of her three starts over hurdles, including at odds of 50-1 at Hexham (2m, soft) 34 days ago - beaten 11L by Miah Grace.
Has shown no worthwhile form (Flat or bumpers); virtually impossible to see her in the front rank on hurdles debut; look elsewhere.
Eight-race maiden; ran her best race when finishing fifth of 14 to Happy Jacky at Clonmel (2m, good) in September; tackles a new trip; a first ever Newcastle runner for the Curragh trainer James Nash (& ride for Gavin Brouder).
13-race maiden in point-to-points (for Niall Kelleher); in the rear division throughout on both starts under rules (2m4f); needs a miracle on all known form; look elsewhere confidently.
By Milan; with Jim Dreaper when runner-up in a mares' maiden at Taylorstown in April (3m, good); 25-1 and wasn't knocked about in rear on rules/stable/bumper debut at Carlisle (2m1f, soft); could fare better over hurdles (at 2m4f).
Twice placed in Irish bumpers, but disappointed over hurdles thereafter (0-5); needs to improve immeasurably for her new trainer Rebecca Menzies; considered to be an unlikely winner.
Forecasts
Ellarna (15/8), Elk Bridge (11/4), Chanting Hill (7/2), Fyfin Patsy (7/1), Moyode Lady (16/1), Desaray Girl (20/1), Raddle And Hum (22/1), That's My Dubai (40/1), On We Go (100/1), Montelimar (125/1)
Fresh from wind surgery, Ellarna is a noteworthy runner for Paul Nicholls (Harry Cobden re-routes from Cheltenham) while both Chanting Hill (Nick Alexander) and Fyfin Patsy (Lucinda Russell) should have taken plenty of confidence from recent spins over hurdles. However, in a race which yielded a shock winner in 2018 (Archview Sunrise) we'll chase some each-way value with the hurdles debutante RADDLE AND HUM. Her trainer Micky Hammond has saddled a few winners recently and she wasn't knocked about in rear on debut for Straightline Bloodstock at Carlisle (bumper). A switch to hurdling (over 2m4f) will undoubtedly aid her cause.
- Raddle And Hum
- Ellarna
- Chanting Hill
