Won a Grade 3 contest at Kempton (3m) back in February. Has failed to follow that up in three starts since, including when weakening before the straight to be a moderate fifth at Fontwell last month.

Goes well on a sound surface, and won a Ludlow handicap chase (3m, good) in April. Would have finished closer but for a couple of mistakes when third after a break at Exeter last month, and claims if jumping more fluently.

Won two chases in midsummer at Ffos Las (both 3m) and fair form in three hurdle starts since without looking like winning. Let down by his jumping back over fences at Wincanton last month, and looks high in the weights on balance.

Races mainly at 2½m, and ran respectably on both starts last season. This is the longest trip he's tackled, but he's on a fair mark, and should go well if staying.

No worse than second in six starts this season, and back to winning ways at Wincanton last time, set to win fairly narrowly when left 15L clear at the last. Will continue in form.

In excellent form over hurdles at this time last year, but his form tailed off in the spring, and despite a couple of in-frame efforts in small fields, he's not really taken to chasing with much gusto.

Well held on first two handicap outings in this sphere, but much improved when winning 8-runner handicap at Wincanton in February by 3¾L from Dentley De Mee. Absent since, but respected assuming he can return in similar vein.

Took six attempts to get off the mark over fences finally doing so under positive tactics at Haydock in April. Has failed to meet expectations since, however, and tailed off after a break at Hereford last month. Bit to prove now.

Forecasts

Templepark (2/1), Cresswell Legend (4/1), Overland Flyer (9/2), Brother Tedd (6/1), Monty's Award (7/1), Jersey Bean (9/1), Mahlermade (12/1), Walt (16/1), Bally Longford (25/1)

Verdict

TEMPLEPARK may have been flattered by the margin of victory last time having been left clear, but he is a thoroughly dependable character who is sure to give his running again, and makes just about most appeal. Brother Tedd has done his racing at shorter but this trip on decent ground is within his compass, and he's feared, while Monty's Award has run creditably the last twice, and has place claims again.
