£10,000 purchase as a five-year-old. Flemensfirth mare who is a half-sister to fair hurdler King of Strings. Modest form in the pointing sphere so best watched today.

Fair fifth on debut here last term but form markedly tailed off since, including distant eighth over C&D last time. May be one for handicapping.
Placed in a point-to-point but hasn't taken that on into this sphere, including tame ninth at Worcester last time out. Handicapper in time.
Well beaten in bumpers and not firing over hurdles yet, including eighth here last month. This run will qualify her for handicaps.

Tailed off in both starts to date including when twelfth at Chepstow last time. No realistic chance.
Modes bumper effort on debut but took the eye when staying on into fifth at Warwick (2m5f) on hurdling debut at the start of October. Should do better in time.

Kapgarde filly. Not an expensive purchase and failed to make an effort when tailed off on bumper debut at Ffos Las. Makes limited appeal.

Dual winner in France but bombed out on hurdles debut for this yard, pulling up at Fakenham (2m) in October. Should be better than that.

Had some nice form last season and made entirely respectable comeback when fifth of ten at Taunton last month. May need a bit more over hurdles however.
Modest sort in bumpers and ran to a similar level of that when 18L second at Ludlow (2m5f) on hurdles bow in May. More required on that evidence.
Progressed well enough to land Kelso bumper (2m) two starts ago and made fine seasonal reappearance when fourth at Aintree last month. Leading claims now up in trip.

Queens Cave33

Hefty purchase. Got her career back on track after truncated start with good second at Chepstow last month. Open to more progress now and not to be discounted.

Placed three times when racing under the flags but made poor effort on rules debut when sixth at Ffos las last month. One who will do better in time.
Has a taking pedigree but poor on the track to date, failing to make an impact in a bumper or on hurdles debut at Carlisle last month. Looks more of a long-term prospect.
Bumper winner two starts ago but made poor start to life for this yard when 12L fifth at Ludlow (2m) in late October. Should improve on that.
Good sixth on debut in April but shaped as if in need of the run at Worcester (2m) last month. Makes hurdles debut and looks to be powerful yard's first string.

Forecasts

Queens Cave (4/6), Singapore Saga (7/1), Lisa De Vassy (8/1), Jemima P (9/1), Shantou Sunset (14/1), Notawordofalie (20/1), Miss Gemstone (28/1), Rarest Diamond (33/1), Flowing Cadenza (33/1), Madam Malina (40/1), Sandymount Rose (50/1), Drumreagh (66/1), Dorrana (66/1), Cobra Angel (80/1), Highdawn (100/1), Kapitall (125/1)

Verdict

With winning form already, NOTAWORDOFALIE made a perfectly respectable effort when fourth on her seasonal reappearance. She looked in need of a step up in trip that day and with race fitness on her side she could be tough to beat. Her main rival could be Queens Cave, who is highly regarded by her yard and now looks to have a clean bill of health. The likes of Singapore Saga and Madam Malina were respectable bumper horses but look to be long-term prospects in different company.
  1. Notawordofalie
  2. Queens Cave
  3. Singapore Saga
