Cap York16
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-12| J: Sean Flanagan| T: N Meade
16/1
Pressed for the lead when falling two out on chasing debut at Fairyhouse before finishing a gallant second of nine behind the highly thought of Battleoverdoyen at Galway over 2m6½f last month. Leading claims.
3
Horse silk
16/1
Winner of a Hexham novice hurdle over 2m7½f on good to soft ground in March. Pleasing second of six on chasing debut when never catching the winner in a Fairyhouse beginners contest over a similar trip last month. One for the shortlist.
4
Horse silk
100/1
Has failed to get involved in three career chase starts over a variety of trips. Will need to raise overall profile to play a role in the finish.

Age: 6|  Weight: 11-12| J: D E Mullins| T: W P Mullins
12/1
Not disgraced in a number of Graded contests over hurdles towards the end of last season, when a big run always looked beyond him. First time hood unlikely to bring about the required amount of improvement needed on chasing debut.

Age: 5|  Weight: 11-12| J: D N Russell| T: G Elliott
11/1
Solid 144-rated novice hurdler, winner of three of his five starts over timber. Still ion touch when falling four out on chasing debut at Galway last month and worth another chance here.

One of five in the race for the owners, the Gold Well gelding was four from six over hurdles last time finishing the season on a rating of 136. Market likely to be the best guide on chasing debut.

Lightly raced gelding by Beneficial. Not seen on track since his fourth and final appearance over hurdles in a Fairyhouse 3m novice hurdle in April 2018. Best watched on return to action.
13
Horse silk

Off the mark for connections over hurdles at the eighth time of asking when landing a Limerick handicap on heavy ground over 3m last month beating Theatre World - winner at Navan, Sunday - 7L in the 12-runner contest.

Rare Deal16
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-5| J: Phillip Enright| T: R Tyner
100/1
Beneficial mare, of little account in three maiden hurdles and a bumper since rules debut in December before tailing off on a dismal chase debut at Wexford last month over 2m4f. Not one to be placing a great deal of faith in.

Forecasts

Bapaume (1/1), Speak Easy (6/1), Cuneo (8/1), Ronald Pump (10/1), Galvin (11/1), Castlebawn West (12/1), Insult (14/1), Captain Cj (16/1), Cap York (16/1), Smoking Gun (20/1), Spyglass Hill (25/1), Final List (33/1), Rare Deal (100/1), Captain Cruiser (100/1)

Verdict

The Willie Mullins-trained BAPAUME can make a winning start to his chasing career in the opener. The six-year-old, rated 160 over hurdles will no doubt be well prepped for his debut over the larger obstacles and can hold off the attentions of the Gordon Elliott-trained Galvin who was running a solid race when coming down four out on chasing debut at Galway late last month. Gigginstown House Stud run five in this contest and their Cuneo for trainer Henry De Bromhead and Cap York for the Noel Meade yard should not be underestimated.
  1. Bapaume
  2. Galvin
