Disqualified after winning over hurdles at Newton Abbot (2m1f, good to soft) in August (rider weighed in light); no match for the winner Rebel Rebel (form is tested earlier by Commandant) on chasing debut at Huntingdon (2m4f); tongue-tie added.

Bolted up when winning a Class 3 2m4f handicap hurdle at Worcester (good) in August; well below that level of form since (0-2) as she seeks to discover her way over the larger obstacles; it's difficult to ooze any real confidence.

Has had her ups and downs over fences (unseated rider in a race won by Skewiff at Uttoxeter in January); 7lb above her last winning mark (2m3½f, Ffos Las); returns to action from a 205-day absence sporting a tongue-tie; others more obvious.

After a slow start is heading in a positive direction over fences, with her form figures during May reading 311 (Southwell and Cartmel winner); should strip fitter for a recent spin over hurdles - 6L runner-up to the easy winner Oscar Rose.

Forged clear when winning over fences at Uttoxeter (2m6½f soft) in January; campaigned exclusively over hurdles so far this season following a fall at Haydock in April (determined winner at Fontwell (2m6f) on penultimate start); strong stamina wise.

Age: 6|  Weight: 10-12| J: J McGrath| T: J W Mullins| OR:  108| D

Made a shock winning chasing debut at Worcester (2m4f, good to soft) in May; jumped erratically when soundly beaten off this mark on her seasonal reappearance back there (2m7f) 19 days ago; very hard to fancy on that evidence.

Forecasts

The Kings Baby (13/8), Definitelyanoscar (9/4), Skewiff (4/1), Molly Carew (9/1), Kentford Mallard (12/1), Really Super (16/1)

Verdict

Definitelyanoscar made a reasonable start over fences at Huntingdon (2m4f, good) and that form could receive a timely boost from the third placed Commandant who races earlier on today's Kempton card (2.05pm). She's likely to feature prominently in the market exchanges for Fry and Bowen, so the sneaking suspicion is that greater value could exist elsewhere. The Kings Baby returns to the larger obstacles (2-6) following a spin over hurdles at Southwell, and merits a degree of respect with Richard Johnson in the saddle but the preferred option is the stamina-laden seven-year-old SKEWIFF for the Vale of Glamorgan trainer Evan Williams.
  1. Skewiff
  2. Definitelyanoscar
  3. The Kings Baby
