Larkhill point winner (3m, good) for Sophie Lacey; made a winning start under rules (slowly run race) when justifying favouritism at Warwick (2m, good); carries a 7lb penalty for that ¾L defeat of the Nigel Twiston Davies-trained Chance A Tune.
Useful on the Flat at or around 1m, earning a rating of 90 (5-22); low-key over hurdles and didn't appear overly willing on debut; distant fourth of 14 to Ashington at Stratford (2m+) five weeks ago; visor and tongue-tie worn.
Court Cave gelding; winner of a 3m 4yo maiden at Loughanmore (good to yielding); keen when disappointing in a Huntingdon bumper (1-2f) for Nicky Henderson in March; now switches to hurdles for a different trainer.
Jeremy gelding; 9-2 when finishing third of eight to Rough Terrain in a bumper at Worcester (2m, good) in June - his trainer saddled three runners in that race; market a handy guide on hurdles debut.
A three-time Flat winner (all on the AW); 33-1 when finishing a tired eighth of 12 in a 2m maiden hurdle at Plumpton (soft) three weeks ago; needs to learn to settle better; look elsewhere.
Flat maiden (0-12); 40-1 when finishing down the field on hurdles debut at Hereford (2m3½f, good) 27 days ago; drops back noticeably in trip.
Group 2 winner for Aidan O'Brien (in 2015); has shown precious little since recently returning from a mammoth four year absence; tongue-tie applied; realistically can't be advised.
Moderate on the Flat (55-rated); 100-1 when pulled up on hurdles debut in this very race 12 months ago; no obvious reason to anticipate an improved performance.
Won three times on the Flat between 6f and 1m1f (72-rated); last seen finishing in mid-division in a Class 5 handicap at Epsom (1m½f, good) in September; hurdles debut.
2-37 on the Flat (68-rated); 50-1 and always towards the rear when finishing seventh of ten to Sir Valentine on hurdles debut at Newbury (2m½f, good to soft) last Friday; this looks easier, but others are readily preferred.
Forecasts
Tea Clipper (8/11), Chasamax (11/4), Beyond Redemption (9/1), Ballard Down (10/1), Painted Cliffs (25/1), Sing Out Loud (25/1), Hidden Depths (25/1), Uther Pendragon (40/1), Hackbridge (66/1), River Dart (100/1)
TEA CLIPPER made a winning rules/hurdles debut in a slowly run race at Warwick, and with viable opposition relatively thin on the ground he should prove capable of carrying a 7lb penalty. Possible dangers come in the shape of the Nicky Henderson-trained hurdles debutant Chasamax and his former stable companion Beyond Redemption who is now in the care of Gary Moore after flopping in a Huntingdon bumper (beaten 1-2 favourite) in March.
