15:35 Wincanton Sat 9 November 2019
Three wins last term but some disappointing efforts as well and not the easiest to catch right. Pulled up on comeback last week and current mark looks stiff enough.
Did win at Cheltenham last November but the rest of last season was a disappointment and although he used to have a good record fresh, needs to bounce back at his very best.
His last two wins have been in this race under Bryony Frost in the last two years including first time out a year ago, so fitness should be no problem and sure to have been targeted at this again. Looks sure to play a part.
Did win at Taunton last season but finished the year on a low and not much better on Chepstow comeback last month so not sure what to expect at the moment.
Disqualified on a technicality in this race in 2014 and had a spin on the Flat recently to get him cherry ripe for this. As good as ever last term and should make his presence felt though wouldn't want too much rain.
Didn't quite make the impact as a novice last season that was expected but was in the process of showing much improved form when falling at the last over C&D 2 weeks ago. Up 5lb for that but may well be more to come.
Had a light campaign last term but showed at Sandown on the first of those that the ability is still there and few miles on the clock for one of his age so no surprise if he bounces back for top yard.
Won the Becher Chase last winter and excellent fourth in the National when last seen. A chance that this is a prep run for Aintree next month so market should reveal more.
Consistent type but 8lb higher than Kempton win in May and beaten three times since and may struggle in this slightly hotter company.
May have just needed his Wincanton run last time when behind a few of these and should be sharper but best form on a sound surface and if the rain arrives it may inconvenience him.
Won his first two races over fences last autumn but form tailed off after that. Does go well fresh so could bounce back and cheek pieces now go on.
Gained reward for consistent runs when scoring at Perth in September but below that when runner up at Fontwell since and personal best required to take this stronger contest.
Hurdles win at Kempton in March but best form these days seems to be over the smaller obstacles and disappointing when last seen over fences at Perth in the spring.
