Dual winner over hurdles last term and shaped perfectly well when third behind the smart Nube Negra on Warwick chase debut but may just be better at the minimum trip and takes on some smart types today.

Has shown enough in his two runs over fences to suggest he will pay his way over the larger obstacles but this looks a hot contest and a surprise if he is able to cope with those at the head of the market.

Developed into top novice hurdler last spring with grade 1 wins at two festivals. As a result chasing debut at Chepstow last month was a shade disappointing when beaten by Jarveys Plate though can surely improve with that experience under his belt.

Sent chasing in the spring and not extended to win both of them at the minimum trip. Plenty of form at this trip over hurdles and although this is a big jump in class, shouldn't be underestimated with more to come.

Can hang but no doubting her ability and won hurdle at this meeting a year ago and was never in any danger on chase debut at Worcester last month. More to come and should make the favourite work.

Verdict

Paul Nicholls has an excellent record in this Grade 2 and it was interesting that IF YOU SAY RUN was his only entry in this contest on Monday and the mare can make the most of the weight she receives. Reserve Tank was clearly the pick of these over hurdles but his chase debut could have been more convincing and he may have to play second fiddle here. Solomon Grey is 2-2 over fences but may have to settle for minor honours in this stronger contest.
